Why stop at 75%? Why not 100%?

"the tax rate [on over one million euro income] should be 75 percent, because it's not possible to have..."excessive wealth." "

When I read statements such as these coming from so-called 'leaders', I take alarm. Never expecting to earn that much a year, it still heckles my hide that anyone should take it upon themselves to dictate what any individual can earn in any given time period. Freedom is non-negotiable. The French will never ever ever ever learn.

They call for rates that cant be collected.

They want the best of both worlds.

Buffet, Obama, Sean Penn, Ariana Huffington, Alec Baldwin et all , don’t even pay any where near the Bush rates.

Those that cant afford the teams of tax lawyers cover the spread.

Guess who that is.

If it’s not possible to have that level of income, why propose to tax it?

A 75% tax on income is confiscatory. Why should anyone work 3/4 of the year to pay the government, and get to keep only 25% of what they earn?

We had a Revolution over that sort of thing, and probably would do so again.

The French who are able to, would probably leave France and take their money with them, pulling out enormous parts of the tax paying base of the economy, as well as their businesses that employ French people.

Seems like the Socialist Hollande is full of brilliant ideas he has no way if paying for.

  One more cockamamie pre-election scam.

Hollande’s demands of a 75% tax rate is ONLY possible due to the Act of the US Congress and signature of the US President.

Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), passed in 2009, with a Republican House majority, is the root mechanism being used by EUropean governments to put the clamp on their domestic populations.

In turn, the same taxation levels will be available to the US Congress by this time next year.
