OKLAHOMA CITY - Despite some concern that Oklahoma is returning to what a lawmaker calls "lawless days of yesteryear," a state House panel has approved a bill to allow gun permit holders to openly carry firearms.

“A small incremental step toward removing unconstitutional infringements”

Its a “no step”. The bill would still require a concealed carry permit to carry. You would now have the option to open carry. Oklahoma law enforcement is fighting tooth and nail to stop it. Hell, the OKC chief of police wants to get rid of concealed carry as well. With all the crap that goes in this town, everyone should open carry - we would be a much politer society....red

Now that Brad Henry is no longer governor and Mary Fallin is, this will pass.

Most cops are anti 2nd amendment, and virtually every police union is too. They’re simply anti-freedom. Why people adore cops and never see any wrong in them is beyond me.

I can see some room in the future for some laws, mostly related to signage.

For example, a standard sign for places where a gun creates an inherent hazard, such as in an area with a strong magnetic field (like an MRI), or heat or electrical conduction.

Second, signs where either open carry or concealed carry are preferred.

Third, type of concealed carry, such as on their person or in a container like a book bag, which might be left unattended.

Fourth, where there are secure areas where guns need to be checked prior to entry.

Finally, a simple notification sign that guns and other loose object need to be secured to prevent loss, for things like roller coasters.
