The Michigan Republican Party voted to break a delegate tie Wednesday night, awarding 16 delegates to Mitt Romney and 14 to Rick Santorum.
The decision, which broke a 15-15 tie that would have resulted under the pre-primary interpretation of the rules, caused disbelief at Rick Santorums campaign. A spokesman rejected the decision.
Even Romney supporters in the Michigan GOP said the decision was unfair to Santorum.
I have this crazy idea that you follow the rules, said former Attorney General Mike Cox said after a 4-2 vote by a Michigan GOP credentialing committee, according to the AP. Id love to give the at-large delegates to Mitt Romney, but our rules provide for strict apportionment.

Most of the Republican counties in Michigan voted for Santorum, not Romney.
I guess Arizona figured that Florida could get away with it...
Didn’t they lose half their delegates for that winner take all? Or was that for going early?
I’m not an expert on it, but it’s my take that every state allows general election write-ins. The exact method will vary from state to state though.
I will have to admit to feeling he absolute contempt you do for the leadership of the party I have been a member of for 43 years.
There simply has to be a better way for Conservatives to get their views listened to and implemented, than the flailing pretenders we have voted into office as Republicans.
The crazy thing is that we’re still seeing the anti Santorum attack ads here in Michigan. They’re made by the restore our future PAC which I believe is a pro Romney group.
Shame on them.
I'm not a Santorum supporter by any stretch of the imagination but I am all for proving the liberal shill Romney defeatable.
Newt or bust.
Agree. It appears that the fix is in, and they are going to cram that slimy snake down our throats. Lord help us.
They lost half for going early. RNC Chair Preibus (probably misspelled) said that they “shouldn’t be punished twice” when interviewed about dividing the delegates. Something tells me had another candidate won FL, The April 1st rule would be enforced.
How do we make sure something like this doesn't happen in Arkansas, assuming the GOP E hasn't decided the race for us by then.
“so its the principle of the thing.”
EXACTLY!

Call, or write them, expressing your feelings, and get your friends to do the same.
