Tennessee Voter: Why I'm With Newt
The Chattanoogan ^ | March 1, 2012 | Debbie Davis-Peck, Chattanooga

Posted on 03/02/2012 2:41:45 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

My father was a Goldwater conservative . As a child I often listened and paid attention as he and others would discuss politics and world affairs. I paid attention in civics class in school, learning quickly about how the U.S. Constitution was founded, by whom, and why. I paid attention throughout the years, watching each and every President and their administrations. And even though I am a registered Republican, I have voted a split ticket if I felt someone else was qualified for a position.

My point here is to explain that I have observed, watched and learned how both parties, and each branch of government works. I understand how our political system is supposed to work.

Throughout the years, both parties have evolved into a more progressive mode, growing government, increasing debt, as corruption took hold and both parties are guilty of selling out to lobbyists, unions, Wall Street and special interests, padding the pockets of corrupt politicians and their buddies. I also know the economy has cycles, but that no matter how bad it got, we've always rebounded, because of the resiliance of the American people.

Every president has made mistakes-after all they are only human, and they take advice from those they surround themselves with. The "danger" signal for me began when President Obama surrounded himself with self-proclaimed Communists, Marxists and Socialists. And knowing his radical "Saul Alinsky" beliefs as well as his connection with George Soros, the man who funds much of the media and socialist agenda, I soon came to the conclusion that this President has an agenda to fundamentally change America. This is being done by systematically and purposefully collapsing our economy, causing division among Americans with class warfare rhetoric and race baiting, and weakening our defense which lowers the moral of our men and women in uniform, and "necessarily increasing the cost of electricity," using regulation instead of legislation to stop our country from becoming energy independent, thus relying on terrorist regimes to dictate the cost of oil, raising our gas prices , which trickles down to food and clothing pricing, etc. And the sleeping giant, formerly the silent majority has awakened.

Our country cannot withstand another four years of President Obama's failed leadership and purposeful destruction of our nation. We must replace him with a man of vision, big ideas, experience and itellect. We must have a candidate who can beat President Obama in a debate, with facts, knowledge, grit and determination. I've done my research on all the candidates. I think that any person who runs for president is a patriot. It is not easy putting your life on hold, allowing the media to rip your life apart (which by the way, was not done to Mr. Obama), criticizing you for your past misdeeds, both in your personal and political life.

I then realized right from the beginning that the media and establishment GOP has already elected Mitt Romney for us. I personally resent that. I think that we the people can choose our own candidate. I have come to my own conclusion that Newt Gingrich is the one candidate who has the proven record and accomplishments to not only beat Obama in a debate but also the ability to lead our nation from its current path to destruction, back to prosperity. Don't let the media tell you its already over. It's not.. It's just begun. And I know most folks think primary elections are not as important as the general elections, but trust me, this one is probably the most important election we can vote in.

Tennessee is a crucial state for Newt Gingrich. It takes delegates to win, and if enough of us Tennesseans get out and vote for Newt, he can get the delegates he needs on Super Tuesday to keep on going.

During Ronald Reagan's presidency, then continuing with Bill Clinton, Speaker Gingrich was able to lead congress to balance the budget for four straight years- this has never been done before or since. He also was able to get President Clinton to finally sign the welfare reform bill, and he kept each and every commitment in this contract with America.

These things were difficult things to do, but with grit and determination he was able to do them. This is the kind of person our country needs now. Yes, he has made mistakes, both in politics and his personal life. He has apologized to us, and he has turned his life around, asking God for forgiveness. As a person who was redeemed by the grace of God myself, I am not fit to judge another human being. I believe Newt is sincere in his love of this country, and I am convinced that he is the best chance we have of beating Obama and restoring our great nation.

Please get out and vote for Newt Gingrich on Super Tuesday.

As flawed as the process is, I am glad my vote in Tenn actually counts for something. My vote (and hopefully my family’s votes) are going for Newt.

We must follow the Buckley rule - vote for the most conservative candidate who can win.

I recognize Newt’s negatives. But he articulates the message that must be delivered and he has the background to begin to repair the damage that years of unchecked government growth has wrought.

I believe his negatives can be overcome as the sheeple listen to him explain the history of how we got in this mess and what must be done to expel the pResident.

While newt is a deeply flawed and is 50% left and 50% right... I have concluded that he is the best of the three and by a large margin. Not that anything that I say carries any weight with anyone here but it is newt and newt only, that will carry the fight right into obama's vacuous cranium... and he will kick the living crap out of obama in the debates... he will get into obama's face and call him exactly what he is and call him on exactly what he has done... and THAT is for me... I will write in Sarah Palin’s name if romney gets in. I guess I would have to vote for Rick but I would not be happy casting that vote. They guy will govern to the left of Bush... and Bush was far too progressive for my tastes. I didn't think so at first but I have grown much wiser in dealing with bulls*t today and this election is nothing but...

We Newt supporters in the Commonwealth of VA are envious of those of you who will actually get a chance to vote for Newt. We are limited to choosing between Mitt and Crazy Uncle Ron ...all thx to the machinations of the GOP-E and Gov McDonnell/Lt Gov Bolling et al.

Hopefully everyone who can will get out there and VOTE FOR NEWT!!! ...and, (for one day only) here's hoping we can give Ron Paul a victory over Mitt in the VA GOP-E Machiavellian Pseudo Primary!!!

and he will kick the living crap out of obama in the debates..

If Obama agrees to debate Newt. Obama has final word on this because he is the incombent. Right now there are 3 total debates scheduled, but Obama can change his mind if he feels it is not in his best interests and I can’t imagine the American people will be upset about it. We will see. Newt has said total success for him on Super Tuesday is winning Georgia. He said he does not need to win any other state. South Carolina and Georgia are totally a path to the nomination according to him.

Newt has that covered... he will dog obama at every stop that he makes... he will get in front of the cameras and dare obama to face him... he will call him a coward and worse... obama will not be able to avoid or tolerate Newt's attack. Santorum and romney will call obama a fine gentleman and maybe... just maybe they will say a second obama term is nothing that Americans need to fear.

I hate Romney with a passion and I don’t even believe that. If Romney learned nothing else, he is not going to be as dumb as McCain. Santorum is a great guy and has bashed Obama quite a bit so I don’t think that will happen either. Maybe Newt can do that while Santorum is campaigning for the general. Newt could be the henchman for Santorum. I still don’t see how Newt gets the nomination, but Super Tuesday will be the deciding factor. I believe that Newt says he only has to win Georgia to have the day be a success. I don’t believe that. The guy who wins the most states that day is the winner. I think that will be Santorum....he will win Ohio, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Idaho. Newt will win Georgia. Romney will win Mass, Vermont. Paul hopefully will win Virginia. The only state that I am not sure about at all is Alaska.....I have no idea who will win that state. Your thoughts?

No one but GOD knows what will happen... opinions are like... well you know. I will vote for Newt or Rick but no way I will ever vote for romney. I no longer believe anything that I hear or read in 99% of cases... I have no idea about Virginia... it swings right and left like a broken sign. I just do not know. I do know that romney is one evil lying sumbich who would sacrifice anyone or anything for power. I know what I am gong to do and what I am not going to do... and that is the only thing that I truly know for certain.

If romney wins the nomination... we all lose and obama and the communist/muslim cabal wins.
