'Two men have been found guilty of robbing a Malaysian student as they pretended to help him during last summer's riots in London.
Ashraf Rossli, 20, had been in the UK for just a month when he was attacked on 8 August in Barking.
As he lay injured, John Kafunda, 22, of Ilford, and Reece Donovan, 24, of Romford, stole items from his bag. Both were found guilty of robbery and violent disorder at Wood Green Crown Court.
Donovan was also found guilty of theft and burglary. The judge told the men they should expect lengthy custodial sentences when they are sentenced on 13 March. Footage of the incident, which was recorded on a mobile phone and posted on YouTube, caused widespread anger.

England is a very violent country.
Actually the UK isnt. More violent than it was, but in modern times the UK has had a very low level of violence.
“Actually the UK isnt. More violent than it was, but in modern times the UK has had a very low level of violence.”
That’s probably true, although some of the stats coming out of there for non-violent crime look pretty bad. In any case, I just throw out that line whenever a violent crime in another country is in the news, since the US is always being called violent due to our gun culture (I stole the line from Beverly Hills Cop).
Remember that the UK has something like TWENTY EIGHT ‘violent’ offences on the statute books. Whilst America has four. Most violent British crimes are burglary and theft, NOT crimes against the person.
The UK (60m) has 900 murders a year. Thats all murders.
America (300m) has 17000. Eighteen times the number with five times the population.
America has the highest rate of murder for a developed country. Your numbers and rates of murder, gun homicide and rape (three of the big categories) are all sky high compared to the UK. And 75% of the world’s serial killers and rapists live in the US.
I love America, but I feel safer, much safer, living in the UK.
Damn democrats.
“I love America, but I feel safer, much safer, living in the UK.”
I hear you, and agree that you have a case regarding violet crime. Hopefully your ‘experiment’ of inviting in people that hate your system will end sooner than later, and he UK will become a great place to visit. I really do want to go there, particularly to rent a narrow-boat.
