No. It is well known that Gingrich had a religious conversion.

Though I myself seem immune to such things, I never doubt when others describe such peraonal events.

P.S.: I too, have committed a crime - after my mother died, I spread her ashes along the Oregon seashore per her wishes. Oh, well...

Your posts reflect both compassion and wisdom and it would seem your “crime” would fall under “honoring thy father and mother.” I can assure you that whatever “slate” is being kept on me is FAR worse than yours! It also seems to me that you are not “immune:” or you would not have considered Newt's situation or made the posts that you did.

So when Romney claims to have changed from his past practice you would give him the same benefit of credulity you give Gingrich when he claims to have changed? Why or why not. All of them are deeply flawed from a conservative perspective and I see no clear advantage to any of them. It’s an awful situation.
