WEST CHESTER, Ohio (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has told supporters in Ohio that he thinks he can win delegates in the Buckeye State.

Gingrich spoke Saturday morning at the Back Porch Saloon, a restaurant-bar in suburban West Chester Township, about 25 miles north of Cincinnati.

If he gets above 20%, he’ll get a couple of statewide delegates. And if he can win any congressional districts, he’d pick up delegates there.

Ohio is another state where conservatives are helped most if Gingrich and Santorum both have good showings, pushing Romney below 20% statewide, and keeping him from winning any districts. If GIngrich simply replaces Santorum, it’s good for Gingrich but doesn’t help beat Romney.

According to PPP from another poster, Newt is doing great in GA and has a super chance of winning all 76 candidates. Romney or Santo will be very happy if the can get 20% of the Georgia vote. And Newt is surging in Tennessee who is now within 5 to 7%. Santo is hemorrhaging everywhere.

It's fortuitous for Newt and Mittens that Santo is having OH delegate problems, which could be a prelude to an ugly post-election fight for OH delegates.

I’ve been torn between Newt and Santorum. I find that I look forward to hearing what Newt has to say on this issues and secretly long to have him debate zero. As of today, I will probably vote for Newt here in OH. I don’t care how many wives he has had - at least they weren’t all at the same time like the Mormons used to have. (Ok - throw tomatoes if you want), but, it’s true - I believe Newt has repented and if God has forgiven him, then who am I to still hold him in judgment? I’m not the one deciding his future residence after this life.

I knew Newt was gonna make a push in Ohio! Last week I heard that he had put together an impressive team there, and was making a big ad buy!

GO NEWT!
