Shorter ‘Washington Post’: Bill '****' Maher’s Million Okay For Obama, GOP Must Abandon Limbaugh
Big Hollywood ^ | 3/3/2012 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 03/03/2012 11:45:51 AM PST by Qbert

Today, the editorial board of the Washington Post took a stand against Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, claiming that the GOP must distance itself from the popular radio talker.

IN A DEMOCRACY, standards of civil discourse are as important as they are indefinable. Yet wherever one draws the line, Rush Limbaugh’s vile rants against Georgetown University law student Sandra Fluke crossed it.

His way of showing this anger was to smear Ms. Fluke, who approached Congress to support the plan, as a “slut” seeking a government subsidy for her promiscuity...[Snip]

What we are saying is that Mr. Limbaugh has abused his unique position within the conservative media to smear and vilify a citizen engaged in the exercise of her First Amendment rights, and in the process he debased a national political discourse that needs no further debasing. This is not the way a decent citizen behaves...

On February 24, news broke that television show host Bill Maher pledged one-million dollars in support of the re-election of Barack Obama. While noting that the pledge makes Maher one of Obama’s largest dollar supporters, the story also notes Maher’s “disdain” for Republican politicians.

[Snip]

Less than a year ago, in March of 2011, Maher called Palin a “dumb tw*t,” as reported here by the Daily Caller. On March 29, 2011, the Caller also reported that Maher called Palin the “C-word.”

The facts above suggest that, as it is acting only now, when it involves a conservative and the GOP, the Post’s seemingly lofty call for civility in discourse– as well as a voice in who politicians, or political parties may align with — is subject to the charge of being driven by an egregious double standard, if not political ideology.

The GOP abandoned Rush a long time ago, although they live to ride his bandwagon when they need to raise money.

When a far left ass clown calls a conservative woman a nasty name, they get away with it because they have full control over the media, and in their minds, a pro life conservative woman deserves being called those names..but if you call a liberal woman, who flaunts the fact that she is a whore, if a conservative calls that person what they are, then the libs are outraged..we will always have hypocrisy in the media as long as left wing kooks control it

"Georgetown U..law student Sandra Fluke"

She's NOT a law student or even 23 years old as she claimed. She's a 30 year old radical leftist lawyer with an agenda. Read the other threads on this. One is posted on the main thread page on the right sidebar.

The GOPe has very little standing with conservatives these days, they're just another branch of democrats.

They've learned not to tangle with Rush in the past, and I don't imagine we'll hear much from them other than what is manufactured in the media.

Don’t forget the main-stream smearing of ordinary, patriotic Americans as “tea-baggers”.

Rush Limbaugh was correct when he was describing Ms. FLUKE!
She paying thousands and thousands per semester to go to one of the most expensive Law Schools in America, and she is demanding as a right, FREE CONTRACEPTIVES!! As they pointed out yesterday, Contraceptives are already FREE!
This is a STRAW DOG the DEMORATS are creating to take the American Voter’s mind off the agony and poor ecomomy that the RATS have given us! Washington Post, go to HADES!!

This would be an easy battle to win if Conservatives were serious about the fight.

Has the Left conveniently forgotten they held a series of “Slut Walks” for “reproductive rights” last year? They were very well covered in the mainstream media. Let’s help them remember.

In the video of Maher calling Palin a “dumb tw*t”, the audience cheered in approval. The lefties aren’t even trying to hide their double standards anymore.

Fat chance these bozos can undo the amount of truth Limbaugh has put out there. They are trying to use one instance to push people from a guy who is usually, but not always, right on.
This issue will pass. Nobody really cares one bit if her feelings got hurt. She, herself, claims to be so promisculous that she uses all that birth control and we are supposed to pay for it. Personally, I object to paying for anybody’s birth control. That is the issue. These attacks mean nothing to that issue.
When all is said and done, Obama and his mandate are garbage. People will wake up and realize the they should not be asked to pay for birth control for someone having fun. It will soon stop.

The Washington Post knows NOTHING about civil discourse. The Washington Post is a pigsty of American journalism.

Don’t like the GOP in its present configuration get into your local GOP and start making a difference...your snarky retorts are meaningless...makes you feel awesome though, huh? See last word of sentence two.
