I’ve been listening since about 1990. When you actually heard what he said, how he said it, and take into account who he was saying it about and the occasion which made it all possible, it was pretty minor. It’s always a mistake when people judge the degree of offense by the degree of reaction by the Left. Truly horrendous things (such as 53,000,000 killed by abortion in the U.S. since 1973, over 60% of which came from minority populations that make up about 24% of the total U.S. population) don’t even rate a shudder, rather cheering. Other things, such as a Constitutionally-protected right to carry a gun or to practice religious liberty or to home-school or to practice free speech in criticizing socialists in Congress and the White House provoke hatred and scorn. The most sure thing you know about the Left is that generally whatever they praise is to be suspected and whatever they oppose is more likely than not to be praiseworthy, with a few notable exceptions, and even those things which can be opposed by conservatives are opposed from an entirely different worldview than that of the statist utopians.
