Bought and paid for by the DNC-JSOnline: Wisconsin missing out on U.S. jobs gains

Wisconsin desperately needs new jobs.

Alone among the 50 states, it has lost private-sector jobs for six straight months, raising the political and economic stakes of the next jobs report, due Thursday for the month of January.

Even feeble job creation would bring a sense of relief to a recession-weary state and a pro-business governor who campaigned on a promise to add 250,000 new private-sector jobs in his current term.

"The rest of the nation is moving upwards. We're one of the few states moving downward. There's something wrong," said economist Steven Deller of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The United States as a whole has added private-sector jobs 23 months in a row, including almost a half million jobs in the past two months.

They're not even subtle anymore. The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel is using skewed numbers sent to them from the DNC.

Sickening!

Use these numbers instead. The unemployment numbers are so heavily massaged it isn’t funny.

I am a resident of another state and have never been to Wisconsin. My view of Wisconsin is largely influenced by the radical teachers union and their ridiculous antics in trying to bring down Governor Walker. If I were a business owner with an option to either move to Wisconsin or expand in Wisconsin, I would be having second thoughts. Until the war against these unions is won, I would look elsewhere. Walker is fighting a good fight and I hope he wins. If the unions win, things will get worse.

Wisconsin Jobs Ping list.

FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, the Wisconsin Interest ping list.

Although Ozaukee County purports to have only about a 5.4% jobless rate, Mequon recently advertised 2 jobs — a secretarial job and a public works job. 224 people sent resumes for the secretary’s position and 174 sent resumes for the public works job.

This tells me that a lot of people are dis-satisfied with their current employment. Or maybe they just want one of thse cushy jobs supported by the fat union contracts.

I hope this is not true. Please pray for my sister who is a strong conservative Christian woman who was just fired by her psycho boss after 7 years. She was the OM/HR/Payroll person ay the company.

Lately I have been wondering how the Walker recall movement, with its linked perception of long-term governmental instability, was going to affect Wisconsin’s economic recovery.

Previously I had figured that the state was going to recover faster than my home state of Illinois. Now, I’m beginning to wonder.

I agree. How much pressure are the unions putting on companies to stop job growth in Wisconsin? And rhino Schultz has stopped the mining bill.

This is very well organized and I see this Walker recall as the union’s last stand in this country.

Illinois is FAR more desperate for jobs. I could find nothing here when my job moved to North Carolina, I finally found work in Madison, WI, 90 miles away.

If Wisconsin is in such economic trouble, then it’s a cryin’ shame the legislature refused to permit mining to resume up north. Gotta protect the earth, you know.

The reason we can’t get any jobs going here in Wisconsin is because the dems, by the gib unions, are stopping any companies who entertain the thought of doing business in Wisconsin. The Unions will deny jobs to their own members just to keep the numbers down for Gov. Walker.
