I have told you I prefer Newt to Rick. However, I do not question his, Santorum’s, Social Conservative bonafides.
LONG before this election, and any hint he was running for pres, Rick Santorum was often featured on Focus on the Family. Also, he has been heartily endorsed by Dr. James Dobson who practically sets the mark for social/moral conservatism. Dobson has never been one to “compromise” on an endorsement either. Dobson WOULD NOT endorse a wishy washy candidate. So, unless you are so much more knowledgeable on the big picture than James Dobson (rhetorical question - you ARE NOT) your calling Santorum a “fake” is so much uninformed or biased baloney.
Now that being said, I again emphasize that I think Newt is the better (more balanced) candidate and I hope he pulls it out during Super Tuesday. However, I will not abide someone ridiculing the “real deal” social conservative like Santorum. IF you want to blast him on other areas....well he has holes. But lay off calling him a “fake” on Social Conservatism or on implying or stating he is just an opportunist. The man is sincere, just as Newt is.
Jim Dobson has often endorsed the worst candidate.
I consider Dobson to be a questionable Christian at best. He tends toward ecumenism, which is totally contra-Biblical. Focus on the Family is a wealth aglomerating organization, with excessive investment in its own offices and comforts, and spends massively on a pointless radio program.
Santorum was himself a pro-choicer well into the ‘90s. Your wishes will not change that fact.
