After all that American sacrifices, thousands dead and tens of thousands wounded in war and nation building, for over horrendous, crappy years 10 years in that regional armpit, trying to "civilize" that place. Seems like the dominoes are just primed to start falling right and left out there. Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Yemen. What a mess.
Not surprised, these people cannot be westernized. They cannot be civilized, West/Islam incompatible.
This is going well.
The time to deal with Iran conventionally passed when we had the 4th ID on theirs and Syria’s borders and had a full force and bases in Iraq.
The moment we knew they were supplying IEDs, we should have blitzed them, took out their leadership, then left. Repeat as necessary, but never let the mullahs get as strong as we have.
