Rep. Rich Nugent (R-Fla.) said his decision to use his congressional House office for the duel purpose of a bedroom was a "financial decision."

"We wanted to cut back our expenses. Living up here in D.C. I'm only up here typically three nights a week and then we're off quite a bit, too, back in the district, so it was a financial decision," said Nugent in an interview with The Shark Tank, a news organization that covers Florida politics, which was uploaded to YouTube Sunday.

Nugent, the former Hernando County sheriff, said that sleeping in his office was a "personal decision" because he has chosen to pay for the cost of his own health insurance.

I don’t have a problem with this. DC is a very expensive city in which to live, and if you’re talking about someone in Congress who has a family still living at home, it may be almost impossible to pay for two residences.

A lot of dueling takes place in some bedrooms.

He’s trying to be frugal with public and personal finance? Such behavior can not be tolerated! Didn’t he get the memo that he’s supposed to spend our tax dollars like a drunken sailor? Sen. Byrd must be rolling around in his grave.

And what’s with him paying for his own health insurance?? My gosh! Doesn’t he know he’s in the ruling class? It’s like he doesn’t appreciate all that the Obama marxist regime is trying to do with BarryCare???

Let's give him some credit!

Not only that, but why do most congressmen live full-time in Washington? So they can wheel & deal, trade pork, and go to parties, I suspect.

“He’s trying to be frugal with public and personal finance?”

Exactly. Good for him.

Congress should be moved to a flyover country prairie, housed in barracks and fed in a chow line. No lobbyists allowed in.
They stay until they finish their work, such as passing a budget.
