Maybe the clear channel spokesman should start hosting a show noon-3.
At least one person still has stones.

Rush has endured worse. They’ve hated him for 25 years. Just the latest futile attempt.

Actually... by apologizing, Rush has fueled the fires of hell... where the attack upon him was forged. Rush blew it bigtime by apologizing to Fluke (fluck) and now the #2 Rat in the House wants her to sue him. Give the left an inch and they will rip out your entrails. I never thought Rush to be a fool... until yesterday.

Hoyer: Student should sue Limbaugh for slander
Comments (210) By SEUNG MIN KIM | 3/5/12 12:25 PM EST The Georgetown Law student whom Rush Limbaugh called a “slut” ought to sue him for libel, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said Sunday.

Rush should do what Beck did and have his own Internet-based show.. For as long as Rush is on radio, he will be forever beholden to his advertisers. While advertising can also be a part of Internet-based programming, the main vehicle for revenue is SUBSCRIBERSHIP WHERE THE SHOW HOST BECOMES BEHOLDEN TO THE SUBSCRIBER, NOT THE ADVERTISER. This makes far more sense to me than the antiquated ways of radio!

If Rush goes off the radio, that will be the END of talk radio period.

Isn’t Clear Channel Romney’s (Bain’s) group? Anyone know?

Arizona Sen. John McCain, Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich, and New York's Cardinal Timothy Dolan are among the latest to criticize Limbaugh for calling a Georgetown University student a "slut" and a "prostitute" after she testified in favor of birth control insurance coverage.

When? Last time I saw him speak on the issue was with D. Gregory, and he certainly didn't criticize Rush at all. Did he later in the day or is this BS?

Clear Channel, by the way, is owned by Bain Capital.

Some clarification is needed. aS i UNDERSTAND IT, Rush's show is syndicated by Clear Channel...as such it pays hims some $30+ mill ( or more) a year for the program, which Rush produces, and he solely responsible for the content. Clear Channel in turn has the right to run the show on any of its stations, whenever it chooses..according to the terms of the syndication agreement, and TO SELL COMMERCIAL ADVERTISING to whomever it chooses, and is willing to pay what they charge, be it nationa ad campaigns, or local advertisers in each market. Rush may or may not have the right to veto certain advertisers, or types of advertising. I don't pretend to know the details. This is the vast majority of the advertising that appears in any given tghree hour period.

Rush retains a few minutes per hour that HE can sell to advertisers. He usually endorses these products himself, and does the commericals. I assume that sponsors pay a premium rate for this, and that over the years the value of these campaigns has shown itself.

So we are talkign about two different types of advertisers, and we need to distinguish between the two. I suspect that he will lsoe a few from both sectors, but after a few months, when it all dies down..they'll be lining up to sign up. It may talke longer for any new personal Rush advertisers to come on board..that just wouldn't be a good business decision now..why antagonize a % of your market..it would be just bad publicity..

A representative for Premiere declined to tell the news service how much revenue the company is losing over the recent loss of advertisers seeking to distance themselves from Limbaugh and his comments....

Who said they're losing any money?

Ha! . . and that ain’t all. Rush has scores of companies just waiting in line to sponsor his show.

We’re cancelling Carbonite, and Shari’s Berries just gonna have to eat her own berries - we’ve ordered, but no more. Will just have to find another company that does chocolate covered strawberries. Select Comfort? We have an old one that needs to be replaced - got it back before they had the numbers on them; but we’ll be looking for another glorified air mattress to replace it.

“Occupy” people have all the time in the world to barrage these companies with e-mails; but they aren’t exactly likely to be frequent customers - unless Carbonite, Shari’s Berries, and Sleep Comfort are looking to give their product away free gratis.

Oh, and guess I’ll order some of Rush’s Two If By Tea. (Like Bill Clinton, Obama decided he wanted to bite Rush; but got a burned mouth instead of what he was looking for. Ha! Reprehensible, indeed! - And the beauty of it is that it is highly likely that Rush orchestrated this whole thing just to dramatize the “Bill Maher” phenomenon of name calling conservative women and never being held accountable.

Clear Channel also has a lot of FM talkers and they use language worse than that all the time.

Ummm....

1. The trend is towards online broadcasting anyway. Because the talk demographic is older who show higher resistance to podCasting, et al, for now the real money is on the airwaves. The future might not be Alex Jones, per se, but his netCentric format is certainly the future. So Rush scaling back on AM might not be super bad.

2. Rush has been poor before —he has seen it all. He also has lots of savings and Two if By Tea. He will definately survive, and this actually might prove good, since it might shove him over to the virtual side more now. This isn’t good, but...it’s not a disaster for him, although for those Republican idiots it probably will be.

3. His fan base is fanatically devoted. They will follow him anywhere. I think Rush should get into non-network video production more. Studios are cheaper, and cameras that were once $50,000 are now $2,500 —just look at Act of Valor, a #1 film shot with cameras carried by upper-income everyday tourists. What has happened to computers has also been occuring to cameras and video-editing. Alex Jones shoots using interns and a studio in a business park —it looks great and is distributed via YouTue. A budget for a really great studio could easily be less than $30k. He could be making something like his old show, but on a shorter format —2.5 minute vids, maybe every other day, viewable by commuters on their iPhone and droids. FreddieW, a 25 y.o. YouTuber who never went to film school, gets 7 million hits weekly on his ~ 2 minute fx videos.

4. Rush needs to write another book. It will be an instant best-seller and could come in time for the impending election. All his fans will buy it. The libs will crap their pants.

What Rush did was so F’n stupid. What you had after that was a target rich laughable dumb shit fleabagger type activist.
And RUSH has to go THERE.Thats like calling a bombing raid on your own position when the enemy is totally exposed in an open field, and desperate to go on last ditch suicide runs. While Rush drops a daisy cutter on to our positions.
We are the ones running in chaos and ducking for cover and licking wounds
Rush turned this broad from a silly elitist little brat into Rosa Parks.
Talk about snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory.
Dumb talentless son of bitch has to go the high school slut angle. It puts damper on all the possible possible angles to take apart that circus.

Those who criticize Rush are essentially supporting a slut who wants other people to pay $3,000 a year so she can hop from bed to bed and enjoy worry-free sexcapades. I have lost respect for Gingrich over this. (The other two scumbags mentioned, I don’t care about.)

Rush should not have apologized. This country is becoming more polluted by the day. We need to regain control of our women (wives, sisters, daughters) or we will have to answer to God as a nation.

Isn’t it sort of funny that all those women who demand to be treated no differently than men on account of their gender appear to be the first to act radically different from men and throw a screaming meemie, hissy fit over how badly they, as women, are being treated, as though they, by virtue of their gender, deserve some special kind of treatment?

It is good to see that there is some sanity out there (i.e., Clear Channel). Rush has said that he single-handedly saved AM radio...and he’s right. I’m old enough to remember that the first FM-only car radios were just starting to hit the market when Rush took off - no one could make a case for AM anymore. One more decade and AM would have been gone from the public airwaves.

Clear Channel knows this will repeat once talk radio is shut down. They also know that if Rush bolts in this way, so will the others - and Clear Channel will be left with much, much, few stations to syndicate to.

Clear Channel KNOWS that ALL publicity is GOOD. Some is just better than others. Simply put: Controversy is good.

My point: Rush may be in the spotlight, at the moment, negatively. But for Clear Channel, his show just received a TON of FREE publicity/attention and Clear Channel can replace those sponsors because of that.

Remember, if they ain't talkin' about you and BOTH lovin' and hatin' ya... then you ain't happenin'.

Rush will survive and probably gain audience.
