Nuclear monitoring goat stricken with cancer(not caused by nuclear power)

Katie, a goat who was diagnosed with inoperable cancer after living near the Millstone Nuclear Power station, began her farewell tour on Monday to alert the public to the hazards of nuclear power.

The goat was supposed to attend a press conference at the Capitol in Hartford but was not allowed inside because she lacked the proper papers.

Katie was adopted by the Connecticut Coalition Against Millstone when it discovered that her milk contained excessive levels of radioactive strontium-90. At 16 years of age she has appeared at numerous rallies and events across the state, becoming a poster goat alerting mothers and others to the hazards of nuclear power.

She has appeared with Ralph Nader and on public-access television. She appeared at a rally at Millstone to support Sham Mehta, the Millstone whistle-blower fired by Dominion after he reported to the NRC that Dominion was routinely deliberately disabling its perimeter security system.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protects said it conducted a study and found that radiation Katie was exposed to is not the same kind of radiation from the Millstone Power Plant.

According to the video the goat lived near Millstone for three years. The owner freely admits that the caner supposedly could have only been caused by nuclear fission, either from bombs or reactors. When asked how they can be sure, the owner will only say "Katie's case very unique." The CT DEEP even admits that the isotope found in the goat's milk could not have possibly come from Millstone.

Where is PETA? First of all a very sick looking goat is being paraded around as a prop to Millstone, Indian Point, the Capital and other locations. Secondly, how did the goat get exposed to that type of radiation when it wasn't from Millstone?

Millstone has had reactors since 1970 and according to the census 123,482 people live within 10 miles of the plant. I have never hear of or know anyone who lives near it get cancer where it could be proven it was from radiation at Millstone. I call BS.

Should have thought of that. There was a article recently about the high percentage and how quickly PETA euthanizes strays.
