Another day of protests played out at the state Capitol on Monday with thousands of demonstrators denouncing soaring higher education costs and a select group spending most of the day inside the rotunda to achieve one goal: getting arrested.

By the time the spectacle petered out Monday night, the California Highway Patrol tallied 68 arrests of people who refused to leave the Capitol rotunda after it closed at 6 p.m. Four others were arrested earlier, three on charges of creating a disturbance and one because he was carrying a switchblade, authorities said.

The main group of arrestees, who will be charged with trespassing, apparently felt they had made their point, although it was unclear at times exactly what that was.

Ah the age of television and American idol...everyone wants to be a star and soak up attention.

Most of those esteem-challenged individuals are liberals, as misery loves company they band together to see and be seen by their fellow gunge-buddies.

It sure has become fashionable in New America to demand resources from taxpayers. Pathetic... truly pathetic.

Why are they protesting? If I were to do it all over again, I would go right to work out of high school. I think a college education has lost its value since I attended UCLA in the late 60’s. If you are saddled with 5-figure debt for the rest of your life to attain a 5-figure income, what advantage do you have over folks who pick tomatoes or wash windows? May as well go right to work or the service, and in today’s world, anyone who wants to wear a suit can go into sales. The illegals have shown us the way!

University students! Refuse to feed the bloated and arrogant university professors with your money! Strike against tuition! Refuse to sign up for classes this coming Fall! The university professors and administrators are eating caviar and drinking expensive champagne at their faculty meetings while you’re existing on ramen noodles! They won’t even stop their luxury cars to give you a ride to school! And you will pay any increase in taxes! The lazy university professors take your money whether it’s tuition or taxes! Throw them out on their ears! Down with the trough-hogging university professors and administrators!

Remember who’s in charge of “Big Education” — not some eeevil corporatist CEO you can go picket.

In fact, historically many of these “SOB`s” have been extremely philanthropic to the Education “racket...

Seems that knowledge of economics and logic is necessary to understand your argument.

But then you direct your argument to university students, (snicker).

College in California could be free but for the completely unnecessary cost of replacing underground fuel tanks at gas stations.

Of course, I'm sure they're screaming about that too. /s
