We Jews have known about this since the late 1940s. The argument was that the bombing would have killed tens of thousands of Jews outright, and Roosevelt didn’t want to take the chance. I know — crazy thinking. Also, there were enough anti-Semites in FDR’s administration that they really didn’t care.

For those of us who aren't Jews - it was a knock down, ‘OMG can this really be’ - eye opening experience. Nothing about this showed up in my school history text books... Netanyahu did the right thing bringing copies of the letters. Chilling - thought provoking...
