Switch to Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service). I priced Mozy, Carbonite, et al and found S3 to have the best price of the bunch...plus it’s by a company that really knows how to make highly reliable data centers and is going to be around. I pay about $7/month for 65 GB, I think.

If you use a Mac, get the Arq front-end software. Brilliantly simple, only $30, and flawless incremental backups after the initial backup. Upfront payment of $30 and less than $100/year for the safety of offsite storage — I love it.

PS. I use USB drives at home to make bootable image backups. But I’m paranoid about theft or fire wiping out everything I have, so the USBs are the Belts and the S3 service is the Suspenders. I like peace of mind.
