Romney Notches Victories in Virginia and Vermont (Also Massachusetts)
Wall Street Journal ^ | 03/06/2012 | By LAURA MECKLER

Mitt Romney won easy victories in Massachusetts, Virginia and Vermont Tuesday as he looked to take a commanding lead in the Republican presidential race. Newt Gingrich, hoping to revitalize his campaign, notched a home-field win in Georgia.

Together, 10 states scattered across the country hosted Super Tuesday contests, the biggest day yet in the fight for the right to challenge President Barack Obama this fall.

Ohio, a critical state in the general election, was the spotlight race, with Mr. Romney running close to former Sen. Rick Santorum, who has seen his Ohio lead erode. The former Pennsylvania senator was hoping a win there would infuse his campaign with new momentum.

No matter the results, the Romney campaign said it was prepared for a long race measured by delegates won. "This is a process of gathering enough delegates to become the nominee, and I think we're on the track to have that happen," Mr. Romney said Tuesday in Boston.

"Thank you Georgia!" Mr. Gingrich said in a message posted on Twitter. "It is gratifying to win my home state so decisively to launch our March Momentum."

Attention also focused on Tennessee, where Mr. Santorum has led polls. A Romney win there would show support in the South, a region where he has struggled. Mr. Santorum, who has emphasized social issues and blue-collar economics as he works to attract conservatives unhappy with Mr. Romney, also was the leading contender in Oklahoma.

They may be shills, but that doesn’t mean the report is inaccurate is it?

Way back in 2008, Virginia's Democrat primary had 986,203 total voters.

The Republican primary had 489,252 voters.

You can easily see that 1,475,455 voters in that primary FAR outdistances the pitful Republican primary for 2012.

The state Republican party should be MORTIIED that the candidate list was so week NO ONE IMPORTANT bothered to vote!

I agree with you, but at least Mitt will have carried at least on conservative state. Up until now, he is running up great margins in states that will be voting for liberals (Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, etc.). Mitt will have all of the GOP delegations from liberal states in his corner; I’m not sure that says a whole lot in his favor.

Mitt didn't win here. Our primary turnout shows NO enthusiasm ~ hear that UTTERLY NO enthusiasm for Mitt Romney.

Conservatives didn't bother showing up.

EVEN Democrat ticket jumpers didn't show up either! Bill Bolling is such a failure ~ has he no shame? He's still walking around. FIrst, he should find a tall building. Second, he should take the elevator to the top floor. Third, he should jump out!

No they have no shame. This was not an election. There was no choice. These people are shameless, and republicans in VA need to demand these people who engineered this travesty need to go away.

Something has been sticking in my beady little mind about the name ROMNEY. Today it bubbled to the surface. And it might explain a lot regarding Mitt’s ability and proclivity to SAY something one day and DENY it the next; to flip-flop all over the place, etc. Here is an excerpt from my search in Wickipedia:

Romani people From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to: navigation, search For other uses, see Romani (disambiguation).
Romani people

See Romani people by country for the entire list of countries and other estimations.

The Romani are an ethnic group living mostly in Europe, who trace their origins to the Indian Subcontinent. Romani are widely known in the English-speaking world by the exonym Gypsies (or Gipsies).

They are known collectively in the Romani language as Romane or Rromane (depending on the dialect concerned) and also as Romany, Romanies, Romanis, Roma or Roms.

Romani are widely dispersed, with their largest concentrated populations in Europe, especially the Roma of Central and Eastern Europe and Anatolia, followed by the Kale of Iberia and Southern France.

The Americas are also home to large numbers of Romani. This is especially true of Brazil, to which Kale were deported by the government of Portugal during the colonial era;[18] in more recent migrations, Romani have also moved to other parts of the New World.

FWIW

Vermont was Ron Paul’s big shot and he didn’t take it?

It was just him and Mittens on the ballot there.
