In hindsight, I wonder if it would’ve been better if we helped the Russians instead of the mooslems when they,the Russians, invaded Afghanistan.
At the time it was the Soviet Union and letting them have Afghanistan would have given them port access to the Indian Ocean.
There were large scale strategic issues involved.
