Death threats leveled against Rush Limbaugh
Human Events ^ | March 7, 2012 | John Hayward

Posted on 03/08/2012 5:46:18 AM PST by NYer

Dan Riehl at Breitbart.com hears the warm purr of liberal tolerance rumbling from the Left, which is growing somewhat vexed that radio host Rush Limbaugh hasn’t ceased to exist yet:

The death threats to Rush are captured in several screen grabs of his Facebook page. "Execute Rush, now!" states one; "Don't just drop sponsorship someone kill this pig now please!!!!," reads another. These and others are documented below, with images and names obscured, so as to not be guilty of fueling the same targeted hatred the White House and Democrats have now gone to great lengths to stoke.

[…] "I think karma got a death grip on breitbart, I think his passing is inspirational. Hopefully rush will die next," reads another message directed at Limbaugh. Meanwhile, in comments posted at the L.A. Times Facebook wall, still undeleted as this article is written, readers state that it "would be nice to see that fat douche taken down but I'm not holding my breath"; "crossing fingers for a huge heart attack," and so on.

Lovely people, aren’t they?  Well, at least they never, ever say rude things to women.  Just ask Michelle Malkin!

As Riehl notes, we’re watching a pressure cooker of Limbaugh hatred boil over, fueled by a level of political and media synergy conservatives can only marvel at.

In what appears to be overt coordination with the White House, the Democratic Party, and organizations such as Media Matters for America, the left has pressed home what it sees as a sudden political opportunity provided by Rush's provocative reaction--despite his apology. The goal is not to protect women--who are frequently mocked by liberal talk show hosts without protest--but to force Rush, one of the most effective forces in conservative media, off the airwaves.

This is the sort of thing the rise of Fox News only hints at for the Right.  Liberals aren’t really mad at Fox for dishonesty – they can never produce any examples of it during their anti-Fox rants, and they turn purple when reminded of blatant liberal journalistic frauds like RatherGate.  What drives the Left nuts is that Fox can pick up and amplify stories the Left would rather ignore, reducing the time lag from blogosphere chatter to water-cooler conversation.

Political and media synergy is a function of time, and the Right simply cannot reproduce anything like the Democrats’ synchronized war on religious liberty, beginning with bizarre out-of-nowhere questions from political operative George Stephanopolous at a Republican debate, and ending with the high-speed snowball of the Fluke affair.  In a matter of hours, Democrat political operatives coordinated with media allies to create a set of entirely false “facts” that “everybody knows” – Sandra Fluke is a wide-eyed 23-year old innocent college student testifying before Congress, she’s trapped in a cruel educational institution that is bankrupting her by refusing to pay for her contraception, and powerful media figure “called her a slut” on the air.  The Democrats’ dopey “War on Women” campaign was launched almost immediately after this narrative was chiseled in media stone.

Now that the Left has been worked into a frenzy, however, they are being denied climax.  Limbaugh’s not going anywhere.  He announced today that he’s signing new advertisers, and said that two of those who earlier pulled out of his show are “begging to come back.”  People are starting to buzz about the odious misogynistic garbage some of those other, supposedly pious advertisers are happy to support.  A great deal of attention has been focused on Limbaugh, and the Left keeps forgetting that he’s very good at retaining attention.

This leaves inarticulate hatemongers quivering with rage as they post death threats, while the more sober elements of the liberal coalition look for productive ways to invest the unpleasant energy they have harvested – ideally before people come back around to the absurd nonsense Sandra Fluke was actually peddling, in a photo op deliberately misrepresented as a congressional hearing, or the broader outrage against economic and religious liberty she was trying to defend.  They might also remember that no one was particularly worried about the cost and availability of contraception before this little circus began.

Besides pumping out fundraising letters, the other obvious ploy for Democrats is to use the evanescent anti-Limbaugh rage against political targets.  The Hill reports on one such example:

Democrats are seeking to turn the recent controversy over Rush Limbaugh into a problem for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, with one House Democrat suggesting this week that Romney is at fault for Limbaugh’s ability to stay on the air.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.) said it is "unquestionably" fair to tie Limbaugh to the GOP candidates, especially Romney.

"The fact is, Bain Capital owns Clear Channel, he's got a conflict of interest, and you can't have a leader like that," he told Current TV's "The Young Turks” on Tuesday night.

Bain Capital, the private-equity firm Romney co-founded in 1984, acquired Clear Channel, which hosts Limbaugh’s syndicated show, in 2008.

Yes, Cohen said this on the tiny TV network founded by Al Gore, which continues to employ the odious woman-hater Keith Olbermann, whose misogynistic remarks come in the form of spittle-flecked personal tirades, not satirical misfires.  No, Cohen doesn’t get the irony, and neither does any other liberal.  All they know is that a very tenuous connection between Limbaugh and Romney has been established – Romney co-founded a firm 28 years ago that purchased the network hosting Limbaugh’s program 4 years ago – and they’re going to tug on that frayed thread until it snaps.  Rage must be consumed quickly, before it turns rancid.

I copied my own post from a “Was Breitbart Murdered?” thread, forgive this indulgence.

The Obama regime already crossed the mass-murder Rubicon with Operation Fast And Furious.

Covertly assasinating solitary enemies like AB would not require any shift in philosophy.

“Gangster Government, And Sakharov’s Immunity”

http://www.enemiesforeignanddomestic.com/efadGG.htm

Which brings me at last to Sakharov’s Immunity. Andrei Sakharov was a Soviet physicist and a primary inventor of the H-bomb. When he went off the Communist reservation in 1967 and became a dissident, the regime made his life miserable but they did not kill him, which was certainly in their power to do. His death under such circumstances would have proved the very points he was making about the illegitimate Soviet regime. They moved him far into Siberia to keep him isolated from intrepid foreign visitors, but they did not sprinkle radioactive Polonium dust on his salad. The introduction of that deadly form of Russian salad dressing was left for a later strongman, Vladimir Putin, formerly of the KGB.

And there are many other means of assassination. The Soviet KGB could not assassinate Sakharov’s reputation; it was above reproach. But in the modern era, with the elite liberal media serving as the Obama regime’s willing propaganda organ (birth control, anyone?) this is easier to arrange than ever. Popular media icons can be and have been driven off the airwaves by the full-court press of the Media Matters smear machine, in coordination with Valerie Jarrett at the White House War Room. And does anyone believe that the vicious smear campaign against black conservative Republican candidate Herman Caine was not orchestrated in the War Room of Gangster Government, Inc?

Or the regime can commit an “Economic Waco,” the way it has recently done to the Rick and Terri Reese family of Deming, NM. Read about this case, and ponder this federal engine of total destruction being turned against your family. At the same time the secret federal “law enforcement program” [sic] of walking thousands of guns directly to Mexican cartel killers was official ATF policy, and nobody has even been charged with a crime.

Obviously, taking a defiant public stand against Gangster Government Inc. and its complicit elite media minions comes with some risk. They can drop a large building on you if they want to, just as they did to the Reese family in New Mexico, and grind you under their boot heels.

So why do I stand and point my accusing finger at Leviathan? Perhaps those dissidents with a sufficiently high profile will earn some measure of Sakharov’s Immunity, at least for a while. Certainly keeping a low profile is no guarantee of protection from being railroaded and destroyed, as the gut-wrenching case of Rick and Terri Reese clearly demonstrates. Needless to say, the elite liberal media has no interest in covering their physical and economic crucifixion by the federal government. Please read about their case; it will make you sick to your stomach that this kind of official abuse can happen in the United States of America.

So if maintaining a low profile does not promise safety from the organs of state destruction, perhaps keeping a high profile will. I am pinning a lot on this Sakharov’s Immunity idea. But if it is my fate to serve as one of the canaries in the coalmine of freedom, so be it. I am in good company, standing with many genuine heroes. You already know many of them, but it is not for me to name them here.

[March 2 addendum: One of them, Andrew Breitbart, died yesterday of “natural causes,” at the unnaturally young age of 43, while alone on a walk near his home.]

[Mrch 8: The same day Rush received a fake bomb package, containing an assassination threat, depending on who you read.]

Nothing new there. I'm sure that Rush gets death threats evry day. What is new is that with the death of Andrew Breitbart someone may, I say MAY be doing something concrete about them.

You had me up to this point. Herman Cain was the author of his own destruction.

Yes, thank you for this info He announced today that he’s signing new advertisers, and said that two of those who earlier pulled out of his show are “begging to come back.”

It's exactly what some poster said the other day would happen!

Rush down played it as something harmless, but I wonder. If it was a bomb or something equally lethal, he'd probably be asked by the police to keep it quiet while they investigated. Notice Rush said it was harmless but refused to say what it actually was?

I don't know...maybe I'm being paranoid but I don't believe that Brietbart died of 'natural' causes and I also don't believe in coincidences...like Rush getting a mysterious package the very next day.

I heard some snippets and shards of info... the only items of note that bob to the surface: The “wire” was a simple power-brick powering an electronic picture frame - totally inconsequential. The picture frame had a picture (in its memory? on paper? I don’t know) with some reference to John Wilkes Booth - consequential, very consequential.

Look, dems have many more affairs than Caine ever did, and they are covered up by the MSM. Look at Teddy Kennedy, etc.

I’m not saying Caine was immaculate, where did you get that in my piece? I’m saying the coordinated bomb-dropping on Caine, day after day, came out of the White House War Room.

Somehow I missed the Ricki and Terry Reese incident.

Can anyone provide a link to an article about them?

We have to remember Obama’s races in Illinois were he had his opposition eliminated from the ballot and where he released Ryan’s divorce info. His fingerprints are all over this.

More from the fever-swamps of the unhinged / deranged Left:

Ding dong: Andrew Breitbart is DEAD at 43!

Here's one of the few comments at the above site that I could find that doesn’t have the “F” word in it:

Dr Jones says:

"Dear God™, Please kill Rush Limbaugh next. Thanks, Everyone."

How was Herman Cain the author of his own destruction?

Sure, he wimped out under fire; but do you have information the rest of us don’t?

It was all innocent, Rush saw some wires through his machine that scans unopened packages. Man apologized who sent it to him for all the problems. I forget exactly what was in the package. He did have his return address on the package.

Liberals hate freedom of speech.I hope he has security.Look at what happened to Brietbart.

Liberals hate freedom of speech. What is it about Rush's, Brietbart’s , Palin’s message that they hate, is it that they are for limited government, freedom, freedom of speech? what is so bad about that and why do liberals hate that so much? I ask liberals that.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/palm-beach/fl-rush-limbaugh-bomb-threat-20120301,0,604850.story

The suspicious package found outside the Palm Beach home of conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh on Thursday was just a “business opportunity,” according to Town of Palm Beach Police.

Limbaugh has a device that can scan packages and when there appeared to be wires inside he called police. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad was called out to the compound on the 1400 block of North Ocean Blvd., officials said.

When bomb squad technicians opened the 18-inch-square package they found an electronic plaque commemorating the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth, police said.

It was sent from a listener in Pennsylvania who intended it as an ice-breaker to pitch a business venture. Detectives interviewed him and determined there was no threat, officials said.

The sender apologized for the confusion. Limbaugh had no comment, police said.

(I don’t discount that the liberal MSM is downplaying this event, very willing to believe in the innocence of a plaque containing wires and a commemoration John Wilkes Booth.)
