President Obama lobbied against pipeline to ensure proper review, White House says

The White House on Thursday argued that President Obama's lobbying against the Keystone XL pipeline in the Senate was an effort to ensure the project "receives the important assessment it deserves." Here is the full statement from White House spokesman Clark Stevens:

Once again Republicans are trying to play politics with a pipeline project whose route has yet to be proposed, and despite the claims that this would somehow solve the pain families are feeling at the pump today, according to the company it would take years before it transported a drop of oil.

The fact is that earlier this week, TransCanada acknowledged they still have not identified an alternate route that addresses the legitimate concerns raised by the Republican Governor of Nebraska, as well as local communities, and right now there is no application to assess.

Liar!

Jan 30, 2012 – Official action on the Keystone XL pipeline review has virtually ground to a halt since President Obama rejected the pipeline permit.

TransCanada, which has been trying to get the project approved since 2008.

As good an excuse as any other phony one, unless it’s the real excuse which he has already stated; that he wants the cost of energy to go up. Who’s benefit is he keeping in mind here, the poor people whom Democrats preetend to champion, or the alternative energy companies that Democats continually invest in? And shouldn’t we have an alternative energy plan in place before jumping ship on the one we already have?

It would not have received approval in the first place, if all the details weren’t checked out.

Maybe the Whitehouse can enlighten the unwashed as to the new details they uncovered that made delaying the pipeline necessary.

The Cretin-in-Chief (aka, Obamaloon) is a quota baby blivit sized sack of excrement who wouldn’t qualify to be a ditch digger in any reasonable economy.

There is not even a 5th level real college (e.g. science, engineering, math) that would allow this cretin go get past algebra 101.

The media will let obama get away with this lie too.

The pipeline was approved. The pipeline had State Department approval. It wasn’t until the Democrats started playing politics with the pipeline did it get disapproved.

Bernie Sanders requested the State Department reopen the review process to look at (bogus) environmental issues. And the pipeline, which had been undergoing the approval process for years, was suddenly disapproved pending the review.

It was this SECOND REVIEW DEMANDED BY THE DEMOCRATS that the Republicans put a time limit on and the Democrats ultimately used to deceive the public by saying they had no time to review.

:: the claims that this would somehow solve the pain families are feeling at the pump today, according to the company it would take years before it transported a drop of oil. ::

Another manipulated statistic to promote a lie. Just as the disaaproval of the piepline made the cost of gasoline jump, the approval of the pipeline would cause a decrease. Gasoline prices at the pump reflect, in part, the future cost (hedged). For historical examples, look at the drop in prices when Bush opened more of the GOM to exploration.

Pump prices dropped 2.1% between 1967-1968, Why? The ^announcement^ of the discovery of oil on Alaska’s North Slope.

Pump prices declined 9.3% during the ^construction phase^ of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline (the “Caribou Killer” that wasn’t).
