White House pushes back on report of deal with Israelis over Iran strike

The White House artfully pushed back Thursday on a report in an Israeli newspaper that claimed the U.S. offered Israel high-tech weaponry like bunker-busting bombs and refueling planes in exchange for a pledge to hold off on attacking Iran until 2013.

Press Secretary Jay Carney, asked about the article at the daily briefing, said "there was no such agreement proposed or reached" in meetings President Obama held -- without appearing to comment on what other officials might have discussed.

"We have ... high-level cooperation between the Israeli military and the U.S. military, at other levels with other agencies in their government and our government, but that was not a subject of discussion in the president's meetings," Carney said.

Obama earlier in the week used a press conference to urge the international community to allow more time for sanctions to work -- he repeatedly has cautioned against the "loose talk of war" in Washington.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said in an interview Thursday, though, that the Pentagon "absolutely" is preparing possible military options for a strike on Iran, in a rare public acknowledgment shortly after Obama met with Netanyahu.

He also noted that a U.S. strike would be more effective...

As there any limit to the depth…

The president will stoop to for political expediency?

This question was answer today with a resounding NO! as Israeli newspapers are reporting that Netanyahu mission to Washington for updated bunker busting bombs and refueling technology was met with a: “The US will give you the required support AFTER the election” from our fearless leader.

It is known that the time clock that Israel faces is the redeployment of Iranian nuclear bomb manufacturing facilities outside the reach of the most advanced bunker busting bombs, and this likely will be done in the next several months.

http://www.timescolonist.com/news/Iran+reinforces+nuclear+facility+against+attack/6242924/story.html

Two points here. The first is that in making a decision the first thing that our fearless leader considers is not the possible nuclear destruction of a country and the genocide of a people, but his own reelection campaign.

The second is that the there is a total paucity of coverage of this in the mainstream news and I predict that this will continue to be the case over the next several weeks.

By 2013 Iran may have the bomb and it will be too late.

I don’t think the liar-in-Chief convinced Israel. They will make their own assessment nd act on that.

Thanks for the link.

You know, with 0bama, we really can't be certain if his re-election is the real reason for the delays, or if it's specifically for the purpose of closing Israel's window of opportunity.

In other words, is he just being unfathomably self-centered, or is he serving evil more directly than that?

"He also noted that a U.S. strike would be more effective"

Would it be more effective than an Israeli nuclear strike necessitated because Obama wouldn't help?

When will everyone wake up! The network that greased the skids of Barry Obama’s unlikely career - first to the 1960s radicals around Columbia, then to Harvard Law School and law review “editor,” then to a law teaching position, then to the Senate and finally the White House are the same people who use all methods they can think of to weaken and destroy Israel and the U.S.

What about 0bama fomenting America's reliance on Middle Eastern oil as leverage in preventing Iran from being attacked? I mean, if the Keystone pipeline were okay'd and other drilling permits granted in the U.S. by 0bama then Iran getting attacked wouldn't matter now would it..

From what I see, 0bama is protecting Iran by ensuring our reliance on Middle Eastern oil and if Israel goes solo then Israel is to blame for America's 'oil predicament', or at least that's 0bama's tactic, no?

So what I wonder is why is everyone so concerned about Iran getting a nuclear weapon? If they got one, where would they use it? They certainly wouldnt bomb Jerusalem, it is a holy place to Muslims. Any other targets in Isreal would kill as many Muslims as Jews, maybe more. Look at a map, fallout would affect several Muslim surrounding countries. Just why are we so concerned? Pakistan and India and China in that area all already have nukes. There is more going on here than we are being told. Once again the sleight of hand experts in DC are distracting our attention fro their real objectives.

All Israel has to do is render the facilities and surrounding acreage UNINHABITABLE. Perhaps there are more ways to do that than just nuclear.

A solution is being worked out for a peaceful resolution. Iran will allow inspectors and only use enrichment for peaceful purposes. The U.S and Europe will lift sanctions and Israel will agree not to attack. Another JFK missile crisis has been averted.

The senate votes on a measure “stripping” obama of the authority to reject the pipeline. Where the hell did he get the authority to begin with?

“If they got one, where would they use it?”

I’m sure they just want to keep it in a trophy case so the mullahs can admire it from time to time.

The entire pipeline can be built without 0bama’s approval, except for the part that joins Canada and U.S. at the border. THAT’S the stumbling block.
