Last August I moved from Seattle to Kentuky. My name points out the only downside of my choice. ;-)

I understand his reasoning completely.
He wants to go someplace that’s less socialist than Seattle and Washington.
So, he picked Cuba.

One thing I’m confused about is will they allow him to report in an unbiased manner, or will he have to tow the party line with the risk of deportation? If he can actually report fairly, this could be interesting. If it’s a bunch of fluff pieces, not so much. I know he mentioned the discontent and possible uprising, so it doesn’t sound like he’s spewing the party line totally.
On the plus, if he’s a liberal, this will be good for him. He’ll see first hand the horrors of communism.
For once a Lib who actually follows his principles and leaves this rotten, stinking, festering, unjust mess of a country.
Gotta admire him for that.
