Halperin: Romney Has Horrible Relationship With Media, But 'It's Not A Partisan Thing'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Mark Halperin says Mitt Romney's campaign has the worst relationship with the media of any major candidate he's covered. But, according to the man from Time, it has nothing to do with the fact that Romney is the front-runner to take on the MSM's Chosen One. No, Halperin assures us, "it's not a partisan thing." The fault lies entirely with the Romney campaign itself, which reportedly has kept the press at arm's length.

Halperin's comments came in the context of a Morning Joe segment today in which Mike Allen discussed a Politico item on a media "charm offensive" that the Romney campaign is conducting.

Halperin claims MSM dislike of Romney has nothing to do with partisan politics. Ping to Today show list.

Baloney.

MSM now starting tp proactively explain why, if Romney wins the nomination, they’re going to treat him like any other Republican - in contrast to their blind worship of the unqualified marxist saboteur in the office now.

Sounds like when he destroyed all the emails and computers when he left MA as governor. He makes sure he cleans up behind himself. That is why he is so careful with his words. He’s just like obama was before he got in office. Leave no trails.

They hate all Republicans - except those willing to trash their fellow Republicans.

"It's Not A Partisan Thing"? Ummm, I'd say he's lying. (Maybe Halperin can tell us how many staff members in his newsroom are Republican.... then again he'd probably weasel out saying he ‘didn't know - or ‘independent’ - or some other lie. )

As much as I detest Romney and everything he stands for, maybe, just maybe, he learned from McCain's campaign that the media is not your friend.

The one thing that comforts me about Romney possibly being the nominee is the knowledge that Romney will forever be added to the long list of moderate republican losers.

HW Bush, Dole, McCain, Romney.

And we who fought so hard against him will also get to say “we tried to tell you” to all the insider know-it-all’s.

Of course they will just say something like... Obama couldn’t have been beaten, and that it would have only been worse with a real conservative as the nominee. But we will know the truth.

The main diff between RINOmney and the Obamaloon is that both look like a t*rd, but in the case of RINOmney, nothing is there at all.

In the case of the Obamaloon, one finds mass, stink, and putridness far behond comprehension.

Thank goodness Obama doesn't look down his nose at the press the way Romney does.

EVERY Republican candidate and/or nominee is obtuse, cruel, stupid, socially inept, ignorant, and socially retarded. All of them.

The last one the pukes in the media had to pretend to like was Eisenhower, because he was a REAL war hero.

Goldwater was hated. Nixon was hated even more. Ford was disliked, Reagan despised. GHW Bush was ridiculed, as was Dole. Dubya was caricatured, and McCain (who ran the most pussified campaign of the last 50 years) was ignored because the media was enamored with Obama’s skin color and use of “reverb” at his speeches.

You're giving the press too much credit for Eisenhower. They tried to portray him as an intellectual lightweight compared to Stevenson.

Or they'll just change their screen names, like all the Arnold Schwarzenegger fans did.

Best thing I’ve heard about Romney yet; that the media detests him.

Kind of like the enemy of my enemy is my . . . . . .

So Halperin, are you going to do a proper investigation of Obama’s ties with racist professors and his friendships with terrorists, or are you going to write another butt kisser like “Game Change?”

You are correct. I was wrong.

What I should have said was that the media didn’t try to demonize the guy...that would’ve been a bridge too far in those days. But you’re absolutely right, they tried to make him look like a nice old dummy.
