A watershed moment for the Girl Scouts came in 1993, when they amended their "promise" so as to omit the word "God."


Well, there goes THAT watershed moment. BECAUSE IT ISN'T TRUE.

You have to wonder about this article when someone could write this based on an easily verifiable False STATEMENT.

Look it up, or ask a GIRL SCOUT to recite it for you.

Oh, for "God" girls may substitute the name for their higher deity ie Allah etc - AS MAY BOY SCOUTS
Or girls may simply remain silent and not use a term for God if they choose
Simply scandalous and un-American, isn't it? Tolerance of all faiths. Or respectful silence by those who don't have or wish to share one.

In 50 years of Scouting I have never had anyone stay silent for the word "God" but if they did, they would be listening respectfully to me and others recite our faith.

Two of my coworkers have pulled their daughters from the Planned-Predator-loving GSA.

I haven't bought their cookies for years because of this affiliation with these bloody butchers and because they've pretty well dropped all reference to my God of the Judeo Christian Bible.

"Girl Scout policy states that the word God may be interpreted depending on individual spiritual beliefs. When reciting the Girl Scout Promise,God may be substituted with the word dictated by those beliefs."

Golly gee! Why, I remember way back when when the Scouts, Boy and Girl, knew the word God meant the God of the Judeo-Christian Bible. So when did all this crap start? So, now a tin-can or a tree or a dust bunny can be God to the GSA! They've come a long way!

I just went to the Girl Scout’s official web site and looked up the Girl Scout oath

It still contains the word “God”

Maybe the author of this article has other facts that aren’t correct as well.

This is old news but needs to be repeated. Girl Scouts is still fairly innocent up to age 8 or 9 when the girls are selling cookies. But any normal person who lets his daughter stay in Girl Scouts past age 10 is crazy.

The Planned Parenthood connection is distressing, but the approval of open lesbians as scoutmasters is the worst of all. Prime hunting grounds for sleazy, butt-ugly women who can't find affection anywhere else.
