I was tuning my FM the other day and I paused to listen in to a couple of morning radio jocks engage in their usual prattle. I could not believe my ears! Here is a sample:
Jock 1: Have you heard about lighting bottle rockets from your zipper?
Jock 2: No. Sounds like something I would think twice about doing.
Jock 1: I could make quite a statement. The only thing I would worry about is blowing up my junk.
Jock 2: What would your girlfriend say about that ? . . .
You can guess the rest of the conversation—it borders on pornography. I say, if this type of conversation goes on with other radio personalities, then to threaten to take Rush off the air for a trivial choice of words is a criminal affront to the First Amendment. The First Amendment has been used to protect pornography. Are we saying that Rush Limbaugh’s speech is worse than pornography?
Now that Zer0 has unleashed the leftist crazies in this country, we are entering an alternate universe where a blind eye is turned to one kind of speech and a microscope is turned to another!
Glad I didn’t hear that, too. I’d be very tempted to call-in about the comparison, if they took calls.
