During World War II the chief of the Imperial Gen. staff observed that Churchill had about 10 ideas a day and nine were foolish and one was brilliant. His job, as he saw it, was to keep Churchill from pursuing the nine bad ideas.

I don't know what nine bad ideas Newt has. Perhaps you're referring to his session on the couch with Nancy Pelosi. He himself admits the photo shoot was stupid but one can say only with the advantage of hindsight that belief of scientific claims of global warming was stupid. In fact, the science remains disputed to this day. Gingrich opposed left-wing remedies for global warming. The idea of global warming is a question of scientific fact, not political opinion. The reaction to global warming, if one accepts the science which supports it, is to provide conservative solutions.

Nor is it crazy to suggest the next conflict might well be fought and won, or lost, in space and it makes a great deal of sense to divert a portion of a massive defense budget from wasteful boondoggles to the real theater.

As to Gingrich's speech concerning space, it is easy to dismiss the speech in sweeping generalities but the particulars of the speech make sense. Gingrich was not advocating federal programs on large-scale but a federal private partnership stimulated, not with massive government subsidies, but with limited prize money. This idea is not particularly attractive to me, but it is not crazy.

Were you referring to something else?

President Obama just lost his first “Debate” with Newt. Folks, if we end up with Romney or Santorum getting the nomination over Newt Gingrich, shame on this nation. What a national loss that will be.

We need him—flaws and warts and all. Better a flawed Conservative that a polished RINO—or a well spoken Progressive/Communist.

I would have said the same of Lincoln back in his day and look how he turned out: One of our best who saved the Republic!

Unlike any of the other candidates, Newt is Life Tested and has the wisdom that comes from experiencing both absolute success and absolute failure.

Many experience the first and are destroyed by the second. Not Newt. He's back, and with better ideas. And why are his ideas better?

No one in the race understands the country and American and world history as well as he does and none understands and speaks the language of Americanism and American patriotism as well as he does.

We need someone who can teach us back to our foundation, to help us to reconnect with/to what made us the beacon of freedom and prosperity. That is the counter to the progressives and their Marxist/communist transformation.

The person we need as POTUS is Newt Gingrich.

I much prefer Newt to any other candidate in the race. Knowing full well his propensity to shoot from the hip.

Have been warned about falling for my desire to see him dismember Obozo with his speech and wit. But it is something I cannot bring myself to not want to see. An irresistible urge.

Absolutely loath Mitt Romney. Phoney. Having stated that, I will not vote 3rd party if he is nominated. But I already told at least 1 GOP national official, that if Mitt is forced on us, after the election I will find another party that wants to save the nation.

I would go to the polls this November and pull the lever for Newt with a little enthusiasm. The others. Not so.
