He handled things brilliantly once more. The end analysis of his comments are that he will have more listeners than before, better sponsors, and at least two sponsors that tried to come back. Who has the last word? Rush Limbaugh and few are surprised.

You're right. The plus side is that Rush has successfully and tactically turned his mistake back upon his attackers and will come out stronger than before as far as his own commercial success is concerned.

The downside is he enabled the left to hijack and divert the national conversation into an area in which the rest of our leaders are ill-equipped to handle.

This incident and issue is going to hurt us this year because it's allowed the Left to reach in and grab the emotions, on a visceral level, of vast numbers of women and impregnate them with the meme (sorry, couldn't help myself) that Republicans want to take control of their reproductive lives.

Agreed, the issue that put Rush over the edge was sooooo ridiculously absurd he sincerely lost it: a privileged woman spending $60,000 for school demanding that WE pay a few hundred dollars so she can sexually enjoy herself. Too much.

What bothers me is that 85% of the country isn't up in arms about it.

I have seen referenced elsewhere that the personnel who burned them [the desecrated korans] did consult about the proper procedure and were informed, correctly, that burning was the prescribed solution, yet none of "our" spokesmen seem willing to make that case.

Taken further, though we have been correctly informed by SOME that the korans were desecrated by Muslim prisoners writing messages to each other in them, we very seldom if ever hear the fact that those korans were required by Islamic law to be burned because of the desecration.

IMO somebody somewhere decided that it was in the better protection of our troops that we simply say it was inadvertant because the stone age stupid people who are rioting and killing our people either couldn't pay attention long enough to "get" the true background or didn't know their own damn law and wanted to kill us anyway.

The other possibility is that "our" people wanted what's happening and wanted it for the purpose you state.

http://www.therightplanet.com/2012/03/was-timothy-geithner-arrested-by-the-nypd/ The link above suggests that arrest is imminent not that he was arrested. .............. http://the2012scenario.com/2012/02/benjamin-fulford-us-treasury-secretary-timothy-geithner-arrested/ This site headlines the arrest of Geithner and then claims he has an escort at all times, and also claims that he gave up may high level officials but evidence of the arrest seems lacking to me.... ............................. As predicted, the collapse of the Satan worshipping financial mafia is accelerating. U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was detained for questioning by New York police on February 24th and was released after giving evidence about many high level financial criminals, according to New York police sources. “In most cases we have to slap people to get them to talk but in his case we had to slap him to shut him up,” one of the interrogators joked. Geithner has been released but is accompanied at all times by an armed deputy to make sure he does not leave the country. Former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi of Italy is also proving to be very talkative, sources in Europe say. Berlusconi has been released. Meanwhile, meetings between White Dragon Society representatives and South Korean government officials last week in Seoul were very productive.

Unfortunately this is what you get at site after site, they either refer to a Feb.24 th suppposed but not proven arrest of Geithner where he appears to have been held by authorities and than tailed or followed but there reamains little confirmation of an actual arrest,IMHO. Other sites simply refer to the Judge Napolitano interview which also fails in proving Geithner was actually arrested. As in many cases involving the regime, actual proof is either hidden, blacked out or is not there. This is yet another,IMHO.

Personally,I cant blame Rush for all that.

We are fighting an enemy who has complete control of the DBM.

If they want to create a meme/issue out of thin air as George Stephanopolus did some weeks ago while interviewing Romney in a debate they can. And they got have away with it. Just the sheer repetition of contraception as if it were truly an issue is enough to create hundred if not thousands of headlines as if their self created issue was real.

Romney by the way did not fall for it at the time but they kept on with the meme since all of this was undoubtedly planned by the DNC than executed by the DBM. The rats are expert liars and know how to astroturf almost anything they want. Just ask David Axelrod who is probably behind this sham anyway.

My personal opinion is that the Obama administration sanctioned the original leak of the story as part of a plan to stoke and inflame violence against our troops as justification for a planned, humiliating, Vietnam-style withdrawal of our forces before the end of the year.

If that is the strategy, then it is working. There is a developing consensus among the political elites of both parties that we need to leave sooner rather than the 2014 target date.

I should note that our combat troops were out of Vietnam in November 1972 with just 16,000 military advisers remaining. On March 29, 1973 all remaining troops were withdrawn leaving just a few military personnel protecting our diplomatic facilities. On April 30, 1975 - At 8:35 a.m., the last Americans, ten Marines from the embassy, depart Saigon, concluding the United States presence in Vietnam.

The famous picture of US personnel being evacuated from our Embassy's roof in Saigon created the false impression that our military was being routed and escaping in panic. The reality is that we had an orderly departure two years prior to the fall of Saigon and the South Vietnamese fought valiantly for two more years until Congress cut off aid and the NVA violated the Paris Peace Acords and invaded the South in mass numbers. Most of the people evacuated from the Embassy roof top during the last days of Saigon were South Vietnamese who had worked with and for us.

The REV Al on MEET THE PRESS (NBC)??? He has credibility issues that should ban him from ever being taken seriously as a round table or any other type media participant.

The name ‘Joycelyn Elders’ should have been used in response to the Democrats/stateRunMedia fake issue of Government subsidized birth control products.

I believe Rush is doing that now.

Why should he destroy the wonderful work by going out on a shaky limb?

He does all humanly possible without resorting to conspiracy theories.

Not that Breitbart did that... but I guess I’m just wondering what the heck you think Rush should do that he isn’t already doing and that he hasn’t done for, lo, these many years.

You’re probably right, and Rush does plenty. It’s just that he is in such a powerful position, it’s easy to hope for too much in desperate times.

...If a woman has sex over three times a day, what would we call her if not a slut?...I certainly would not classify her as cute or sexy...Since Walmart and other places charges under $10 per month for birth control pills, what was the rest of the expense for?

Maybe she had to pay for the, uh...companionship.

The problem is that that is how the media describes her.

Every story, every AP shared article, only referred to Fluke as “Sandra Fluke, Georgetown University student,..”

Given the short attention span modern mankind has with all that invades our lives, I’d say that’s what the vast majority of Americans heard about the issue: Rush Limbaugh called some student a slut.

The press is Pravda.

They did seem to have the counter attack pretty well run out of the gate. The feigned outrage routine ended up backfiring.

Thank you so much for the explaination!

I did watch it and it was as you say. I think other links on the thread went further, but you’re right, the headline for the video the OP posted was very misleading.

Oh no! Not "The Skipper" and "Gilligan" again. We should start referring to the Sunday Talk Show Thread as the "Gilligan's Island II Thread."

Why are our Republican politicians so ineffectual? Witness the confrontation on Meet the Press Gov. McDonnell stayed on the defensive and who had the better part of every issue yet spent his time 'splainin'. ... Yes, I concede, I exaggerate. But my point is essentially sound.

I submit that the primary reason is because, with only a handful of exceptions, almost none of them actually believe in anything beyond their "careers" and staying in office. In addition, another factor is personal cowardice - most of our politicians, who get to make the decisions which send our young military personnel around the world to die or be maimed in the service of their country, aren't fit to shine the boots of those they command.

Other deleterious factors contribute to the problem as well. There is plenty of just plain ignorance and stupidity to go around, and of course unhealthy doses of greed, dishonesty and the lust for power. Finally, my personal favorite, some of them are just plain evil (I wanted to get that out there while we're still allowed to say it... /g).

nathan, your comments are always worth reading, even when we disagree. I'm sure you remember the story of when Abraham Lincoln was confronted about how inappropriate is was to put General Grant in charge of the army because of his slovenly habits and the fact that he was a drunk. Lincoln replied that whatever his faults Grant would at least fight and win battles, and if they'd tell him what kind of whiskey he drank he'd send a barrel to his other generals.

"Our side" is intent upon battering and bloodying themselves over secondary factors of doctrinal nuance and purity, while refusing to acknowledge the necessity of taking the fight directly to the Left. As an acquaintance on another forum puts it, the Institutional Republican Party is just going through the motions to preserve their status quo. They really do prefer to lose the election rather than allow a paradigm shift in which they're no longer in charge of the party.

AB! has been graciously doing this useful and informative thread for years. And it is still worthwhile to watch or keep up with the Sunday Talk Shows as a means of knowing our enemies. However, let's just imagine, as a mental exercise, an alternate reality where the Democrats were in the position the Repubs hold now.

There would be no Sunday Talk Shows where the Repubs and a Repub-controlled media got to regularly manipulate and humiliate a small, carefully-selected subset of Democrat guests for propaganda purposes. Rather than submit to such a loaded scenario the Dems would exercise that famous discipline they've shown time and again and refuse to allow any of their people to participate. Those who tried to break ranks for their own personal benefit (the John McCain and Lindsey Graham types) would be punished severely.

The Dems and their allies on the Left would never submit to play in such a rigged game where they weren't in charge. They'd either take the battle to another front and forum, and the Sunday Talk Show format would wither away, or they'd send only approved, designated spokesmen for the party who'd only parrot an approved, consistent, undeviating party line. No independents, "mavericks", etc. out to cut their own deals and build themselves up would be allowed.

Those differences in discipline, focus and unity of purpose are why they're winning and we're not.

I’m not wanting to pile on Rush either. He did a masterful job of taking a lemon miss-step and making lemonade out of it. There’s no question the Left can manufacture an issue out of thin air whenever they wish. It’s just unfortunate they managed to hit such a high-profile target this time.

But, we need to accept that the Left made a direct hit with their target demographic, which was the vast numbers of women whose only memory of this kerfuffle will be that Rush Limbaugh called a college coed a slut, and the Repubs want to control their contraception.

If they’d managed to hurt Rush with his sponsors and affiliates that would have been gravy, but even though he deflected that blow the Republican candidates are going to continue to be dogged by it, mainly so the media can just let people watch them squirm when confronted with it.

Thanks for the historical recap and timeline. It's important to remind people of the real history of things.

The famous picture of US personnel being evacuated from our Embassy's roof in Saigon created the false impression that our military was being routed and escaping in panic.

That is correct. Unfortunately, that iconic picture and deceptive meme is what most of the world now accepts as truth. I am truly concerned that when one or more of the many world pressure-points finally lets go later this year that our people in AfPak will be forced to undertake some sort of modern equivalent to Xenophon's Anabasis.
