Newt to Obama: This is What a Drilling Platform Looks Like

UNLIKE Rick and Mitt, Newt Gingrich didn't rest on his laurels complaining about the liberal political landscape of his state. Newt CHANGED the political landscape in GA (as he did in Washington), brought Democrats into the party, rallied people to get involved in politics -- all by pushing conservatism.

________________________________________

"ATLANTA — It wasn't so long ago that the Republican Party in Georgia was just an afterthought, and Democrats were in firm control of all the levers of state government. Back then, Newt Gingrich and other die-hard GOP stalwarts ventured across the state with the far-fetched message that Republicans could reverse the tide.

Now with commanding majorities in the Statehouse and control of all statewide offices, Gingrich is hoping his vision for how the GOP could overcome decades of Democratic dominance in Georgia will pay dividends. He sorely needs a victory when his home state votes Tuesday, along with a big chunk of its 76 delegates, to prove his stumbling presidential bid has staying power.

Many Republican figures in Georgia still credit him with championing conservative policies, outlining a framework for what a GOP majority in the state could accomplish and broadcasting talking points to a generation of up-and-coming conservative leaders. He's also applauded for lobbying conservative Democrats, like then-Rep. Nathan Deal, to switch parties.

"Everyone else was trying to lose as slowly as possible, and to die with dignity at the Alamo. He was talking confidently that the Republican majority in Georgia, in the South and nationally was right around the corner," said Ralph Reed, a veteran Georgia GOP operative who founded the national Faith and Freedom Coalition. "On the one hand it was crazy, but on the other it was just the most exciting thing you've ever heard.".....................In Ga., Gingrich helped build conservative base

******************

A rule requiring early-voting states to award delegates on a proportional basis “was the dumbest idea anybody ever had,” New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said Feb. 23 on Fox News. Christie, supporting former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, disparaged the rule because Republicans are running against President Barack Obama, who won’t face a primary challenge, and Republican presidential hopefuls will “beat each other up even longer.” Source

THE DUMBEST IDEA ANYBODY (GOP-E) EVER HAD, WAS TAPPING MITT ROMNEY AS THE GOP NOMINEE before the primary started and now clinging to him like a drowning victim. Mitt can't "swim."

Saw this posted, thought of you.

“You know, even two years ago, if somebody had told me that the Republican Party was this close to nominating a pro-abortion, pro-gay, tax-raising, anti-gun, pro-government run health care, anti-energy development, global warming believing, anti-religious freedom, pro-wage controls, Medicare-defrauding, Wall Street bailout supporting, left-wing judge nominating socialist, I would have laughed in their face.”

Yet, the GOP seems to be on the cusp of doing exactly this — and likely dooming itself as a viable major Party from here on out.

And yes, I know that Romney supporters can try to argue that RomneyCare was slightly different than ObamaCare, or that it was only at the state level instead of the federal, but the fact remains that, just like Barack Obama, Mitt Romney’s first instinct on the issue was to subject the free market and individual choice to government control, bringing a significant portion of the economy under state control. That will be his instinct on everything else, as well. No thanks.

This is great, really great.

Do you think Gov.Perry would be Gingrich’s running mate?

Great video. Newt is having fun with the Obama algae plan. Love the way Newt just spouts out stats on natural gas, timelines, drilling and prices. He has mastered it.

I don't know what is ahead but I do know they hold the same sound views on American exceptionalism, U.S. energy independence, smaller government, states' rights, a secure border and strong national security.

Some Kool-Aid drinking, Mittiot crapweasel butted into a conversation I was having on Twitter yesterday.

He told me that Twit RINOme is more conservative than Ronald Reagan was, and insisted that my only choices were him or Ron Paul because Rick and Newt are big-government progressives.

That was the last straw for me.

I looked up the a-hole’s profile and, sure enough, he’s a Joseph Smith cultist.

I commanded him to go do something to himself that is requires him to remove his special drawers.

[Art.] While the self-proclaimed "fiscal" or "social" conservative might try to isolate a certain set of issues — those they claim as "their own" — into a distinct block, and then advance these as the "most important" (often to the point of becoming "single issue" voters), the movement conservative understands that all of these issues are inseparable, and that you can't deal in one area without it affecting others. (Emphasis added.)

The writer needs to dash off a quick note to Newt about this. He's been willing to throw certain "social conservative" (so-called) issues over the side in an effort to palliate his backer(s) and appease the RiNO GOP-E.

Exhibit A: Newt's willingness to allow Mexican illegals to slide into citizenship and, with their social history of rock-ribbed labor-syndicalist Socialism, vote 70% straight-ticket Democrat, which is an existential, not a "social-conservative", issue for the Republican Party.

Put Texas in the safely-Democratic column like the Dems did in California by clogging the polling places with Mexican votes (sometimes cast by illegals, as was asserted in Loretta Sanchez's two wins over Bob Dornan in Orange County, formerly a safe GOP seat), and you can kiss the White House goodbye for the next 200 years.

I hope Newt’s strategy of shredding the first Muslim in all of his speeches, rather than the other candidates pays off.

It is way past time for our guys to stop pummeling each other and go after Problem #1.

Newt is at his best when attacking Obammy. He would be leading in the delegate count had he not lost focus on Obammy.

You may not believe this, but I think that Perry the deliberative, analytical thinker would serve the innovative, visionary Gingrich well.

Better than the Pennsylvania appeaser + anybody.
