Santorum was incredible! Great job! He won big time. Newt did pretty good too.

I watched the forum earlier. Someone should tell Santorum he is running for Commander in Chief, not Minister in Chief. We each have our own ministers, and we know who our Savior is. Additionally, I do not appreciate Santorum utilizing key words developed by Mr. Newt. That to me makes him a cheap copy of the one and only original...Mr. Newt. We have suffered through the last 3.5 years with an amateur, we sure as hell do not need another one like Santorum or Romney..

Santorum’s speech was full of grammatical errors, stumbles, and stutters. Santorum was speaking as though he was very aware of who was coming up behind him, and definitely seemed off his stride. I noticed the other night after Santorum won Kansas (full of stupid people), that he started using Mr. Newt’s words to describe the difference in choice between he and Obama. That is not cool. Next he will be saying he will “never bow to a Saudi King.” That to me is very tacky, and quite unprofessional as an attorney. To me, it is like plagiarism, an academic crime, but for a presidential candidate it just shows that he is not ready for prime time. Santorum also lied about Mr. Newt on several occasions. By the way, I too got several of Santorum’s robo calls before the Kansas caucus. They were filled with lies and innuendos about Mr. Newt, touting his marriage credentials and all those children. Any of those adult children serve in the military? I bet not. At least Ms. Sarah’s son did his tour before beginning his life as an adult. By the way, I have a daughter who served in the Navy for four years (the son I always wanted) before getting married (first), settling down to give me a grandson 2 years later.

Now, Mr. Newt opened up with an immediate attack on Obama, after his mouthpiece, Carney, called Mr. Newt a liar. Very cool!! Mr. Newt can think on his feet like no one else and prepare a comeback that knocks your socks off. Mr. Newt even read the quote word for word, so he wouldn’t make a mistake as to what was said by Carney. And as if that were not enough, Mr. Newt challenged him to a debate on energy (not that the coward Obama would take him up on it). Mr. Newt can fill up 15 minutes (yes, he was cut off in the allocation of time), like no other. I could listen for hours. His depth of knowledge just amazes me. His power to capture the room is evident. His debating skills alone would be enough for me, but he is right on almost every issue of national importance.

Romney is a weasel for not showing up, and Ricky-boy should have also passed on this one. He did not do well at all, and sounded desperate to make his points. His language was poor, and he was not truthful in his attacks on Mr. Newt. Without a doubt, Mr. Newt was the defined winner of this forum, and, unless Alabama and Mississippi are as stupid as Kansas was, should take both states with decent margins. I recorded this event and will watch it again later, but thought I would give you my opinion…anyone for some Pecan Pie?

Romney may capture the upscale whites, but he will loose his own Conservative base, and will loose the general election just as McLame did.

There is no doubt in my mind...Romney will not be our nominee! Mr. Newt will stay in this race and eventually make the truth about Romney and Santorum known. This Conservative base will eventually learn the truth about this moderate/liberal. I think he should have probably run on the Democratic ticket against Obama, he would have had a better shot. Santorum is just as much of a fake as Romney, if not more so. Santorum is certainly not a fiscal conservative, and he is now resorting to political plagiarism as well as taking credit for accomplishments that were not his. There are multiple reasons why Santorum did not get reelected, and Pennsylvania will prove that to be true when it is their turn. America will not be electing a Minister in Chief, we will be electing an experienced leader, and Commander in Chief, and that will be Mr. Newt.

Hopefully, Alabama and Mississippi will not be as stupid as Kansas was.

The news media had a applause meter and Washington Post national politics reporter Amy Gardner indicated on Twitter:

@ AmyEGardner : Big standing O for Newt in Birmingham -- much rowdier reception than Santorum a few minutes ago.

@ AmyEGardner : Newt just promised to find one trillion barrels of oil during his presidency.

@ AmyEGardner : Newt wins the applause-o-meter at Birmingham prez forum (over Santorum).

Rick Santorum must have made it clear to everyone in Alabama and the rest of the states that he is a lawyer is paid to speak as long as possible (and while people are still conscious...)

INVALID TITLE.

Let’s cut the crap at what you’re really up to. You don’t want to compare speeches as much you want to compare the STYLE of the SPEECH.

Just because Newt is a better public speaker doesn’t mean he’s a better candidate. Santorum had exactly the same number of key points as Gingrich in his speech.

If your judging style, go watch American Idol. I swear to God, there are some of you who probably would have never voted for Lincoln back in the 1860’s because he didn’t “look” or “sound” Presidential until much later, and after a girl told him to grow a beard.

Calvin Coolidge, a capable President after the Teapot Dome Scandal of Harding was also a capable President, but since “Silent Cal” didn’t interact well with the MSM or voters after his son’s death, you people probably would have had an issue voting for him as well.

The election is not American Idol.

Byron York just commented on this with Greta. He said Santorum received a warm reception though, Newt had the most applause with a somewhat a much better crowd enthusiasm.

hey moron, thanks for calling Santorum supporters Stupid. I guess that will be a problem in the future for Newt since so many of us non-Newt supporters can’t see the obvious brilliance that is Newt. Go FReep yourself.

Do you realize how stupid YOU sound attacking a conservative for grammatical errors, awkward pauses, etc? And who died and made Newt trademark King of every conservative idea out there? So now, only one person can have a reasonable energy policy?

And just what are these “lies” that Santorum has told in the robocalls. Links or proof.

And a very crappy cheap shot at Santorum’s kids. How dare you attack them and question Santorum’s patriotism to defending this country.

It ignorant a-holes like you that make me never want to cast a vote for the genuine phony. Take a look at yourself and your attitude in the mirror, because it is PRECISELY why Gingrich is losing.

Santorum covered Newt`s points well, and in only 150% of the time!

I agree style should not override substance.

But one important use for the assessment of style is when you want to determine who might be the more sincere or genuine.

When this is your goal, substance won’t help at all.

Newt is the leader in which we need at our nation's crossroads.

I see through all that. Rick is much more genuine that Newt. The only difference between the flip-flopping of Romney and Newt is that Newt is a better speaker and better at covering his tracks. I don’t buy any of it.

I mean, now the phony was trying to take credit for Reagan’s 45 & 49 state landslides. Give me a break. He was a backbencher in the early 80’s as Mark Levin pointed out. Now he’s pretending to take credit for all the ideas the Tea Party has been pushing since 2010, even though he opposed the ideals of the Tea Party just prior to running for President?

I swear, if Bill Clinton himself started talking conservative statements, there’d be idiots here willing to foget his entire past and crown him king of conservatism too /sarc.

Thanks for your insight on the two speeches which I didn’t see. What you said is pretty much as expected. I’ve noticed quite a bit of plagiarism by Rick against Newt the past few weeks as well.
I like Rick, he just hasn’t accomplished as much as Newt so tie to Mr Newt.

NO. He (and many of you) have referred to Santorum supporters as “STUPID”. I’m not going to tolerate this crap. Neither am I going to tolerate the continued bashing of Santorum for BS reasons.

Newt’s a better speaker. So what? The difference is I (and many Santorum supporters) beleive Santorum a heck of a lot more than we believe Newt.

I don’t think Santorum supporters are stupid. Rick is not stupid either, he is fine person. He will be a good president maybe in 2016 after Newt gets rid of Obama and straightens out Washington. I just don’t think Rick is ready yet.

Well, I am truly sorry if you were offended by the truth and facts (liberals are that way as well). By the way, you can’t spell or use grammatical statements either. “It ignorant a-holes” I did not lower myself to use any foul language, and was speaking generally. Just in case you forgot, or did not know, Romney’s five (5) sons did not serve in the military either.
Now, I will vote for Santorum or Romney if either happens to win this nomination. Unlike you, I was simply stating my opinion, take it or leave it. No foul name calling is necessary. And yes, Santorum’s Robo calls were just that, dishonest and not worthy of his so-called Christian beliefs, which make him a fake and not deserving of this nomination. You want my vote? Then don’t be so lazy as to use a recorded message that cannot even be acknowledged. I listened, and waited to have someone ask for my response. To me, that denotes a coward. It was certainly not a positive call to tell me of his many qualities or accomplishments.
As for Mr. Newt, if you cannot see his obvious brilliance, then you too sir, are stupid. I did not call anyone a moron, just stupid. The definition of stupid is: (1) Slow to learn or understand; obtuse (dull witted, simple minded); (2) Tending to make poor decisions or careless mistakes; (3) Marked by a lack of intelligence or care; foolish or careless: a stupid mistake (4) Dazed, stunned, or stupefied; (5) Pointless; worthless: a stupid job; A stupid or foolish person.

And, you sir, fill that bill.
