Gingrich banks on wins in Alabama and Mississippi

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Republican Newt Gingrich says he'll campaign for president until the party's nominating convention in August, but his candidacy largely rests on the results of primaries Tuesday in Alabama and Mississippi.

Asked by reporters how he felt about his chances, Gingrich said: "Pretty good."

"The reason I stay in this race is it's about more than right versus left. It's about being smart, it's about understanding the modern world," he said.

Gingrich planned to be in Illinois on Wednesday to campaign for the March 20 primary there.

In an address Monday to a Republican presidential forum in Birmingham, Gingrich implored voters to support him.

"I've stayed in this race for two reasons," he said. "I do not believe the two other candidates can beat President Obama. We have to win in a principled way with a big enough agenda and enough momentum to change Washington decisively."

My girlfriend just voted in Pascagoula. She said the place was empty. She said she voted for Newt. I said, “Good girl!”

Did you bother reading my post in full, or are you going off in your usual fashion. The poster was slamming Rick for things her candidate is all too well known for. The last sentence sums it up.

I believe I stated earlier that I had voted for Santorum today. Maybe it was on a different thread, so in case you missed it, I voted for Santorum today.

I had wanted to vote for Palin. However, when Cain declared, he was my candidate. But they’re out. So, today, I voted for Santorum.

I can’t stand Mittens and I don’t trust Newtie.

Good grief, Lazlo, I think you live in an alternative universe, or didn’t read my post.

Iowa was gift wrapped and handed to Rick Santorum and don’t give me that year he tramped around in Iowa staring at corn fields in the hinterlands. Rick was launched in Iowa cauci by one method. F L O R I D A.

Florida: Bloody Thursday was the moniker given to the Round The Clock National Media Campaign, synchonized together RINO Romney’s $20 million charactor assassination followed by GOP-E DC RINOS publically denouncing ONE man and buying out the Florida debate audience against him. That man was NOT Rick Santorum. It was Newt Gingrich.

Newt’s backer left him $600,000 in debt, unable to defend himself, and CLEARING THE FIELD FOR RICK Santorum IN STATE AFTER STATE, as the only anti-Romney candidate outside of Uncle Nutty, before he finally coughed up the money to let Newt compete. And then it was with the stipulation that Newt could run NO NEGATIVE ADS.

Cry me a river. What Rick dares to whine about is laughable when placed side by side to the machete used on Newt.

Newt is ARMY combat. Rick needs a fainting couch and a bag of chips by comparison.

I know that’s what you said. But, I don’t see any supporting evidence.

I’ve cast my vote today. It is done.

Proof?... Have you ever heard Willard, Rick or Barry Half-White say anything against the Unions?..

Willard and Rick refuse to even MENTION the Unions.. AT ALL..
Newt stands against the power of “the Unions”..
He is for disassembling the federal givernment.. which Forces Union power..
Newt would repeal Smoot-Hartley... which empowers Unions for anything federal.. and many State givernments..

FREEDOM is right to work laws.. for a whole State..

I really wanted to vote for Sarah.

Today I voted for Newt. So did my wife and friends.

I won’t vote for Romney in a primary, and don’t trust Rick with all the news about his RINO voting in PA. At least Newt would out debate Obama.

Actually, I don’t really trust any of them. None of them are Sarah....
