The Wall Street Journal ^ | 03/14/12 | Joe Palazzolo

“The courts could lose more than one-fourth of their workforce, civil trials could be suspended for months, funds to pay panel attorneys who represent indigent defendants would expire well before the end of the fiscal year, and court security could be severely compromised,” said Judge Julia Gibbons, in remarks to the federal judiciary’s policy-making body.

That’s what happens when things like free contraception are considered a right. There’s no money left for the important things.

Unfortunately, things have gotten so bad with leftist legislating from the bench and biased decisions, you have to ask if a funding shortage is negative or positive.

The judiciary is about to lose many of their members?

I just don’t see a downside. WAY too much litigation going on out there.

paaaaaleeeeze cry me a river.

These judges are full blown hypocrits.

The civil jury trial is all but extinct. judges routinly clear off their dockets by enforcing binding arbitration clauses and jury trial waivers.

In addition federal judges are notorious for creating near impossible trial schedules.

In addition in the criminal arena federal judges allow DOJ ambushing because most federal judges come from the DOJ.

perhaps if they actually worked or had worked they would get or even understand. For example Judge A and Judge B want their case done and finished yesterday but the lawyers representing those very real people have jduge a, b, c, d, e all asking/demanding the same dates and times.

Boo frickin’ hoo.

Also, lifetime appointments for federal judges was a mistake. Where is the accountability?

it was NEVER about contraception, it was about Obama morphing ABORTION into contraception. Obama is trying to find a new angle to invigorate abortion and thus tack into women votes.

sneaky.

there is none on the federal level.

On the state front, the judges who were booted for their homosexual based marriage edict are going around the country pissing and moaning in favor of merit retention in an effort to push “judicial independence”. All they have done is remind everyone why they were booted.

Gosh...ya think this might be some of the problem??

[snip]more than HALF of all Federal prosecutions are of illegal aliens. In 2009, the U.S. Justice Department filed nearly 92,000 immigration-related criminal cases in the federal courts. The record-breaking trend accounted for more than half of all new federal prosecutions in the country, according to Justice Department data maintained at Syracuse University..”
http://towncriernews.blogspot.com/search?q=federal+courts

And on top of that old figure is the fact that the obama administration wants more aliens reviewed by the courts before they are deported.

sounds like they are getting ready to scrap the “Congress has power of the purse” clause and issue an order to the Executive Branch to pay their bills.

THis is a nonissue. They already can pick the money in the lifetime sallaries of their elders. If they are so much for Euthanasia and taxing the old or inheritors, they can start with their own.

I can think of 4 SCOTUS judges whom I’d like to see laid off to save salary expenses.

No problem in liberal states.

Just take the liberal position and render judgement.

A third grader can do it. No intelligence needed.

There, look how much we’ve saved...and we still get the same inane, stupid, and completely leading to CW-II judgements.
