The local rag here had a series about an entrepreneur who started a donut shop.
Not to sell donuts to the public, but a commercial bakery to supply other stores. The guy had experience in other bakeries and wanted his own business.
It was basically him and 2 other young guys. They leased an old building, first thing they had to do to get a permit was spend a ton of money building a handicap accessible crapper.
Government, thy name is inefficiency.
Those were all removed. years later they replaced them with plasticy-rubberized garbage. Everything is low to the ground. Merry-go-rounds are tiny, if they exist at all. Slides are now curved tubes so little Johnny won't fall off and can't pick up any real speed. Swings are limited in how high they can go.
The nanny state came to California decades ago.
Treat this the way private clubs do in “dry counties.” Make the hotel pool “members only”. Sell it for a dollar.
It’s not like public swimming pools are not closing left & right as it is. First the diving boards go, now this?
I remember too. Great memories of swinging as high as you can, pumping like crazy then jumping out at the peak to go flying . the fun of it all
So you toe the line and install the lift. A wheelchair-bound patron makes use of the new lift, heads into the pool all alone and drowns. Guess what happens next? You betcha. “Where was the lifeguard now that the ‘attractive nuisance’ exists?” When will the madness stop?
Let’s have pools for infants who poop and people who have infirmities absent of necessity to poop.
First the Tan Tax (mostly whites) then the public pool regulations. See article for percentage of pool users in the U.S.
