okay,... what about the time you couldn’t have job because you were a white male? (I hope it isn’t like the time I lost a job to an affirmative action hire)

Some years ago I was approached by the FAA to become a safety inspector. The job looked very good and I jumped through all the government hoops required. The hiring manager then had me in a few times to discuss the job while the paperwork grinded along. On my last visit he asked me to step into his office and closed the door. Embarrassed, he then told me that he could not hire me because the FAA had ordered its managers “not to hire any more white men until they hired more Women and People of Color.” His words. Subsequently, he had to hire a woman with half my qualifications and one-third my experience. I am told she lasted 18 months.
