DENVER -- The owner of a Denver check cashing business was shot in the hand during a gunfight with two armed robbers Wednesday night.
Police said the businessman had just closed the OK Check Cashing store for the night at 1991 West Evans Ave., when he was he was approached by two suspects who demanded his money, shortly after 8 p.m.
The business owner drew his weapon and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, police said. He was hit in the hand and the two suspects fled in a vehicle.
Police said the two robbers remain at large.
Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information that leads to their arrests and convictions.
Anyone with information can call Denver police at 720-913-2000 or Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
I wonder if that is what happened in this case.
Sounds like a title for a Western: “Gunfight at the OK . . . Check Cashing Store.”
I have a scar on my hand from a Simunitions round. It does happen.
