After Attacking Camerawoman, Chris Rock Lawyers Up
Breitbart ^ | 3/15/12 | John Nolte

Posted on 03/15/2012 10:38:05 PM PDT by Nachum

I have to tweak, just a little bit, this Hollywood Reporter article written by Paul Bond -- one of the good guys. The repeated use of the word "allegedly" in the face of, uhm, video makes me laugh.

But not as hard as I'm laughing at Chris Rock, who is every inch the badass -- you know, as long as his bodyguards and lawyers are around.

Yes, Mr. 1% -- who, uhm, "allegedly" attacked a petite camerawoman as opposed to the actual MAN who asked him an inconvenient question, is now lawyering up instead of handling this like an adult:

Rock allegedly reacted to the man by snatching away his video camera, which was being operated by a woman, and hurling it across the room. Then he supposedly challenged the man to a fight.

What Rock didn’t know at the time was that the man, Jason Mattera, was writing a book on Hollywood hypocrisy, and Rock shouting, “Let’s throw down!” while standing behind a couple of burley bodyguards fit in perfectly with the author’s narrative of celebrities whose deeds don't match their rhetoric.

Rock probably also didn’t realize that video of the encounter would be used to market the book, and that effort began Wednesday. Mattera, in fact, has video of several “A-list” celebrities, he told The Hollywood Reporter, and he’ll be rolling clips out piecemeal over several weeks.

“I confront them on statements they have made in the past that haven’t been challenged, or on the hypocrisy that I discuss in the book,” Mattera said. ...

“If Cris Rock didn’t use so much profanity and degrading remarks during his stint, he’d just be another home boy on the curb drinking 45s and bitching about the crackers.”

He got his start mimicking those very people; remember “I’m Gonna Get You Sucka”? As far as I’m concerned, he IS another homeboy drinking 45s on the curb. Money doesn’t change that; I just make sure it isn’t my money.

Aaron Sorkin, the writer for “The Social Network,” thinks “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” could use some social skills.

In a blog entitled “In her defense, I’m sure the moose had it coming,” published on The Huffington Post Monday, the 49-year-old screenwriter called the ex-Alaska governor’s killing and quartering of a caribou on her show this week “heart-stoppingly disgusting.”

“Like 95% of the people I know, I don’t have a visceral (look it up) problem eating meat or wearing a belt,” he wrote. “But like absolutely everybody I know, I don’t relish the idea of torturing animals.”

http://articles.nydailynews.com/2010-12-09/entertainment/27083935_1_torturing-animals-sarah-palin-s-alaska-caribou

But Sorkin added that the conservative politico wasn’t just killing for fun.

“That was the first moose ever murdered for political gain,” he wrote, before alluding to PETA’s response to the episode in which they accused Palin of using “blood and guts” to improve her ratings.

“You knew there’d be a protest from PETA and you knew that would be an opportunity to hate on some people, you witless bully,” Sorkin wrote. “What a uniter you’d be — bringing the right together with the far right.”

In conclusion he wrote, “Sarah Palin is deranged and The Learning Channel should be ashamed of itself.”

Aw man. Aaron Sorkin didn’t just have mushrooms when he was caught at the airport last week – he also had crack.

Aaron Sorkin, creator and executive producer of the Emmy Award-winning drama “The West Wing” was charged Monday with the possession of illegal hallucinogenic mushrooms, rock cocaine and marijuana.

Sorkin, 39, was arrested by airport police on April 15 after security officers at Burbank Airport found a small bag suspected of containing drugs in his carry-on luggage.

Prosecutors charged him with two felony counts of possession for the mushrooms and cocaine. He was also charged with one misdemeanor count for marijuana.

Some celebrities may have soured a bit on President Barack Obama, but not Chris Rock. The comedian and actor told fellow comedian Marc Maron on the “WTF with Marc Maron” podcast that he’s “fine with the president,” if only because he understands that the president has to keep his most aggressive policies on the back burner until he earns a second term.

“There’s a f——— art to the first term because you’re always running for a second term the whole time. It’s like Clinton’s first term. You can’t really do your gangsta sh— until your second term. … Even Bush couldn’t really f—- up the world until his second term. That’s when he put the hammer down.”

>>I don’t blame celebrities when they get set up by sneaky, self-interested ‘gotcha journalists’ with video cams just waiting for that ‘maximum publicity’ moment for a g-damn book.<<

You don’t blame them for what? Going bonkers and attacking camerawomen? Destroying private property?

Seriously, that is justified in your mind?

Whatever happened to answering the question or “no comment?”

I do. They work their whole lives to be in the public eye, then get upset when they are. Tough noogies. It goes with the territory.

Russell Brand creeps me out.

You're not alone. I've only seen him on Leno but I found him to be one of the creepiest people in show business.

Since you’re new (ha) I’ll give you some advice.

Don’t watch Bill O’Reilly. He’s a sell-out and irritating at all times.

Yeah, I remember when we liked Chris Rock. He made some of the funniest videos ever.

I guess everyone gets corrupted in that culture and a lot of black people, even the good guys, have some deep resentment stored up which is encouraged by the people who surround them.

It is basically enormously sad.

I had a cable repairman out yesterday. He was black, very competent, terrified of my dog but eventually came in.

He wasn’t a native black so I asked about his accent. He hastened to assure me he was legal (I wasn’t even wondering about that) and told me he was from Nigeria and had been here in Texas about 15 years.

So, I’m thinking, here’s this guy who came here, probably had to learn the language, learned to do this trade of fixing tv’s and cable problems, got hired by a big company, probably making excellent salary,

so .. why are so many native-born blacks just sitting on their butts?

If you don't want to get an earful, don't ask non-American blacks about work, politics, racism, etc. For the most part they really can't comprehend what black Americans are bitching about. And for a real treat, if you've travelled to for instance Jamaica, the natives have no concept of NOT working.

And ironically as "conservative" as non American blacks are, they'd STILL vote for Obama.

I saw show recently where a black American "came out" to his Jamaican father. The dad started crying and said: "You know it's not right, maybe God can help you."

I USED to like Chris Rock. He said I'm liberal on social issues, conservative on things like CRIMINALS.

"If you want to know where to find trouble, go to MLK boulevard in any city...there's some CRIME goin' on!" and: "Some dudes say: I'm a great baby daddy, I take care of my kids on the weekends. What do you want, a COOKIE? That's what you're SUPPOSED to do!"
