STATEMENT BY SENATOR PAM GALLOWAY
State Senator Pam Galloway (R-Wausau) released the following statement regarding her retirement from the State Senate:
Today I am announcing my retirement from the Wisconsin State Senate. After a great deal of thought and consideration, Ive decided to put the needs of my family first. My family has experienced multiple, sudden and serious health issues, which require my full attention. Unfortunately this situation is not compatible with fulfilling my obligations as State Senator or running for re-election at this time.
It has been a tremendous honor to serve the residents of the 29th Senate District, and I want to thank them for the privilege of working on their behalf. I am proud to have sponsored a number of bills that passed in a bipartisan fashion and made this state a better place. Throughout my race for this seat, I promised to bring CPR to the Legislature. Im proud to say that I accomplished all three in controlling spending, promoting jobs and reducing taxes.
I thank my colleagues for all their support, and I wish them all the best in their work to rebuild this state. For the sake of the electorate, I hope that better days are ahead for this institution.
To my supporters, family and friends, thank you for the encouragement and unwavering support to allow me to do a job that I absolutely love. Finally, to my constituents, I wish them my very best and again thank them for entrusting me to look out for their best interests.

If her senate seat is vacant is the recall cancelled and does Gov. Walker get to name the replacement to complete the term???
I think he gets to call for a special election which would be held later this year.

According to my quick research (Wikipedia only, so take with appropriate quantity of salt), a special election is to be held.
I don’t know whether, in this case, the special election would be held instead of the recall (which may be as early as May 8, I believe), but that would raise some interesting prospects.
Just read, but I’ll be damned if I can find the link (will keep looking) that it just goes to recall without her on the ballot. NOT good if true.
If the resignation is immediate, that’s very bad. The Republicans only have a one vote majority now, and Schulz is a RINO (turned on the iron mining bill).

State Senator Leah Vukmir told Newsradio 620 WTMJ Galloway is the primary caregiver right now for two adult family members.Galloway says she will speak publicly on Sunday. She says she is unable to comment before that time due to family health obligations.
This just shows if you don’t like the election outcome you get a recall going. This will be the MO of the Democrats from now on if they don’t like the election outcome!
Wisconsin needs this like a hole in the head right now.
