I moved to Phoenix in 1962. The population of Phoenix then was ~250,000 and the entire valley was under 400K. Every day, if the wind was calm, there was a yellow/green haze hanging over the area and breathing was far from the allergies/no problems advertised by the CofC.
But we still loved it here and stayed the course.
It once was told (in 1964) that the haze over the Grandest of Canyons was caused by the coal fired plants in the 4-Corner region. I always wondered how in Hell, crud could come to the Canyon, after wafting over California and the West Coast having emanated from Kayenta and surrounding areas. Didn't make sense then...makes even less sense now.
Now, the haze is, for the most part gone. And now, the population is 4,000,000 in the valley of the sun. Sure there are days when we see the dust and pollution from China come over the valley. But I can breathe better than before. The EPA is suing us to get rid of dust. They don't offer a method for doing this but then, they never offer solutions, just issue edicts!
These environmentalists are blatant liars and should be destroyed.
I favor the Mogadishu treatment for the more portly, ex-high-government types.
