How 'bout a plain old "Floor Fight?"

A brokered convention may not be a bad thing. I just don't want to see Jeb Bush nominated to be our candidate for President.

Like the idea of a brokered convention. Candidates articulate their vision for a post-0bama revival.

YES WAY; for those of us who are not a “Johnny-one note” on the issues and realize there are a whole slew of issues facing this nation in crisis and we have to look at the big picture, not just one frame. BTW, when you find the perfect candidate, please let us all know. I’ll be watching here for your reply, but I won’t hold my breath.

No perfect candidate, but if you don't think illegal immigration is one of those "whole slew of issues facing this nation in crisis," not part of the "big picture," well, then I'll have to disagree.

And I have several disqualifiers for any potential candidate who wants my vote, so I'm not a "Johnny One-Note," either.

Rubio’s parents only gained American citizenship in 1975, that is a matter of public record. Therefore, since Rubio was born in 1971, he would not qualify. He is certainly an American citizen, but not a natural born one. It would be hypocritical for us to grant Rubio a dispensation on this simply because he happens to be a conservative.

Palin/West is unbeatable!

Dare to dream! The sound of liberal heads exploding would reverberate around the world!

I guarantee you; they will become a known quantity as fast as Sarah Palin did; OVERNIGHT. Take it to the bank.

Are you serious? Ryan and Rubio (fine men though they may be) can't hold a candle to Sarah Palin's star power. Not even as a team.

The eventual Republican nominee is going to be someone who the Republican right already knows -- not some last minute 'daring duo' who have yet to become household names.

[nd] "Ryan/Rubio in 2012."

One more time ..... Rubio has an eligibility problem. He may not be eligible as a natural born citizen for the office of President.

As much as many of us like him and Bobby Jindal, Jindal's definitely out and Rubio probably is.

A PERRY/PALIN ticket has a nice ring to it. Reminds me that months ago, even before Perry officially got into the race, a guy was interviewed on Fox. This man had correctly identified winners of many presidential races. When asked who was it going to be in 2012, he said with confidence, it will be Perry.

Hey, I can hang with Sarah Palin. I loved her before she was ever chosen by McCain as his running mate. She’d be a good choice. I mean, what more can the liberal media and Bill Maher say about her? Talk about having been vetted........ The only problem is the media has succeeded in convincing a very large segment of the population that Sarah is a dumb bimbo. But, one or two Debates with Obama would take care of that.

I’ve attended many rallies with regard to the Immigration Issue. And, not just Mexicans. I’ve spent time and money fighting illegal Filipinos coming into this nation. Many people don’t know it, but there is a Philippine Mafia bringing them in by the thousands...ILLEGALLY!!! I know it’s a big issue. I still have a T-Shirt that I wore during the Bush Administration that says: “Mr. President, put up that wall.” But, it’s not the only issue. We need Rubio to cut into Obama’s Hispanic vote and to carry Florida. Whoever wins Florida in 2012, occupies the White House.

I appreciate your input. Enjoy the day!

So it comes to this?

We must TRUST the GOP establishment?

I don’t think many conservatives would like that idea.

I like to think that that the GOP leadership has learned its lesson during this primary, but something deep inside cries, “You GOTTA be KIDDING!”

Isn't this guy making the assumption that Romney delegates would go to Santorum at a brokered convention?

I contend that's not likely. If they were the type of voter that would vote for Santorum they would already be with him.

I believe if Romney's delegates abandon him they will go with the other anti-Santorum delegates in the Gingrich camp.

Everyone likes to talk about the anti-Romney vote. There's is a anti-Santorum vote that is at least as large.

I guess by that standard the anti-Gingrich vote is only surpassed by the anti-Paul vote. :)

"I guess by that standard the anti-Gingrich vote is only surpassed by the anti-Paul vote. :) "

To an extent, yes.

But not completely. For every voter there are candidates they COULD vote for if their guy doesn't get the nod. And there are others they would not vote for under any circumstances.

I think Paul and Santorum have the highest anti-vote. There's no data on this yet.

Just my silly-a$$ed opinion based on 40 years of studying the political process. And, I'm STILL wrong at least 1/2 the time.
