Personally I think the ideal ticket for winning is a Santorum/Gingrich ticket.

Or, why not put experience at the top of the ticket: Gingrich/Santorum?

Rick's young, with little leadership experience. He could learn a lot and earn some "gravitas" under Newt's tutelage and actually be ready to assume the mantel in four or eight years.

Just thinking out loud .... hoping it helps others think, too :)

I think both approaches have potential. What I love most about Newt, after his beautiful white hair, is his combative nature. Like Andrew Breitbart, may his memory be eternal, Newt takes delight in the fight. Santorum, although I admire him and even donated to his campaign, doesn’t seem to have that Go Get ‘Em spirit.

If both are still on the ballot when North Carolina’s primary *finally* happens, my present intention is to vote for Newt. This is, of course, contingent on what else happens in the next two months.

I’d take it either way. I am concerned about Newt’s negatives dragging down the ticket if he’s on top though.

“These 45,000 people are upper middle-class families that make $75,000 a year,”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Upper middle class? WTH? $1442.30 a week is upper middle class now? Danged, when I was still running my tiny business I was upper crust and didn’t even know it, I wonder why I didn’t buy a yacht.

Please, get over Newt’s “negatives”. He’s the only one with the stones to clearly point out Obama’s-—from a historical and experience point of view.

And that’s the strategy that will win in November.

“Do you really think this nation could survive four more years of Obama?”
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

I danged sure don’t, in fact I don’t think this nation can survive the first four years of Obama. The actions of presidents have consequences that are often not fully felt until they are retired and or deceased. I don’t even think we could survive the Clinton administration. Of course one must define survive, to me it means to continue as something resembling the great nation of the post WWII era which, although flawed, was vastly superior to what we have now. I was born in 1944 and the USA has NOT survived in a form even remotely resembling what it was in my youth. In my estimation we are already at the point where government criminality is a vastly greater threat to the citizenry than ordinary everyday criminals ever were. The land of the free is certainly not free in any sensible meaning of the word, as to whether it is the home of the brave I will not comment.

The US is the home of lots and lots of "brave" men and women, including my daughter, Gunner Anoreth USCG. The cowardice and the moral rot are concentrated (thought not isolated) at the top.

I personally don’t think the GOP intends to win the white house.

I personally believe the GOP elite are all hard core democrat socialists. They are the DNC...

If Obama has four more years, the country is finished.

It doesn’t matter what you or I think. Romney won’t win.

It is the GOP's race to lose. As long as 2012 is a referendum on Obama and his policies, he will lose. Do you really think that the American people want four more years of the same?

I am amazed how many people forget about what happened in the 2010 midterms, one of the most historic and far-reaching midterms in our history. Just as the Dems' win in the 2006 midterms presaged what was going to happen in 2008, the 2010 midterms will be the harbinger of things to come in 2012.

So you mean Saint Rick is stronger than Romney in these four states, and they didn’t bother to poll Newton?

Good point, but Two-State Newt considers himself a one-man majority.
