I personally don’t think the GOP intends to win the white house. Things are too much of a mess and they don’t want to catch hell for doing what needs to be done.
Plus, the desperation created by a second Obama term would allow them to give us a candidate that makes Romney look like Reagan.

Personally I think the ideal ticket for winning is a Santorum/Gingrich ticket. Between them they hold fewer than 100 less delegates than Romney and could easily overtake him.

I’m not a fan of Gingrich BUT, the things I dislike about him make him an ideal VP choice. He’s a string enough personality that he will have a definite effect in a Santorum administration. They’re the perfect good cop/bad cop team. Santorum can apply diplomacy with a smile while Gingrich applies the whip in congress.

I would like to see Bolton as secretary of state. Depending on how Michele Bachmann does in her house race, she would be good in some sort of fiscal role.
