Yes but typically, offshore wells require such high-quality reservoirs to be commercial that fracing is not necessary. Other than a large field offshore of Newfoundland called Hibernia, the Atlantic has been a graveyard of dry holes. I believe Mobil found some gas a couple hundred miles offshore of North Carolina in the 1980’s but it wasn’t considered commercial. Better stick to basketball!
