I hope Tebow stays, but I think Elway dislikes him too much.
I’m not a big football fan, but I lived in Gainesville and therefore I at least know who Tebow is! I have vaguely followed his progress, and he seems to be doing well, so the thing that mystifies me is how much people in Colorado hate him. I know somebody who lives in Denver and evidently they all want him gone.
I would assume this is because of his religious positions. Denver is an extremely leftist, secularized city. It’s bizarre that your sort of typical sports guys would even get into this though.
Why does Elway personally dislike Tebow?
I agree and I also think that Elway is concerned that Tebow could eventually usurp him as the greatest Broncos QB of alltime so he might be at least subconsciously be looking for a way to get rid of him.
As a Patriots fan, I'm hoping that they can make a trade for Tim Tebow. Tom Brady, who may well go down as the greatest QB in the history of the game, is entering his twilight years and it's time to groom a successor. I believe that Tebow is still young enough to tutor under Brady for a few years before assuming the helm himself as Patriots QB where he can continue the dynasty of Bill Belichick.
Also, I think New England is the best place for Tim Tebow to play football as we are deeply conservative and religious out here (once you get outside the city). Also, New England has the highest standard of living in the United States in terms of climate, geography, education, medicine, culture, dining, hiking, dog-owning, fishing, hunting, beer brewing and sports.
SO hopefully Tim Tebow is soon pulling on a Patriots uniform.
As for Peyton Manning, I can't help but think that Denver is making a grave mistake. Peyton is turning 36 and is surely past his prime and coming off what was very close to being a career-ending injury. At best, Peyton will have 2-3 more seasons in him and the Broncos offensive line better protect him well because he's one good hit away from having his career ended.
