How about wind too, as their biggest wind company ripped off the design of one of their American suppliers and then cut ties with them?

Won't do anything for solar or wind's cost competiveness with gas or nuclear though.

Obama’s doing on election year CYA on Solyndra, etc. so he can say it wasn’t his fault.

An extract from the article (I capitalized some of the words:
“SEVEN U.S. MANUFACTURERS of SOLAR PANELS, led by Hillsboro, Ore.-based SolarWorld Industries America Inc., ARE SEEKING ANTI-SUBSIDY TARIFFS to help create a more fair marketplace.”
*********************************************************
These idiots have got themselves so twisted into pretzels on the subsidy front it’s reached the SILLY SEASON stage.

The Commies strike again.. and again . . .

every way they can.

"China's share of Vitamin C imports to the U.S. rose from 60 percent in 1997 to more than 80 percent by 2002."

So what have the Commies done with our vitamins? And it's been going on for a long time.

"NEW YORK, Jan 26 (Reuters) - A federal judge on Thursday ruled that purchasers of Vitamin C from four Chinese companies could pursue as a class claims that the companies conspired to raise prices by limiting exports to buyers in the United States . . . . "

I think Red China is up to about a quarter of our vitamin A and I have no idea what else.

Thanks, "American" corporations.

Things from China are cheaper that's why we should be happy that you gave away all your technology and stood by as the Commies stole all your intellectual property -- It's OK, people. Things will be real cheap now. Yeah right, jerks.

I'm reminded of the legislative attack on Reardon Metal. When you can't compete, use the political process to hamstring your competitors.

It was a book, for petes sake.

Fiction.

Ayn Rand never contemplated 1.3 billion communists competing with America, while American “capitalists” helped them.

Never. Not once. Even for a second. I’m quite certain of that.

Old fiction books are interesting, but not helpful.

/Rant off

The principles of crony capitalism are quite alive. The failed green energy companies and GM are current examples. It costs everyone. Higher prices for inferior products selected by those in power instead of the market.

We are making our most likely next adversary stronger.

Every day.

Stronger. More competent. More technologically sophisticated. Richer. With more industry.

While we argue about an old fiction book.

Folks, you know that there is something very fundamental being lost or missed here. And that is that, today and for the foreseeable future, SOLAR ENERGY and WIND ENERGY are nothing more than a fool’s errand. A fool’s errand that is causing a massive worldwide waste and misallocation of TRILLIONS of dollars of resources. This is beginning to dawn on Spain, England and Germany. But in the United States this recognition is only just now very dimly beginning to be felt. SOLAR & WIND are massively uneconomical. AND they will continue to be uneconomical for our lifetimes.

The ONLY reason China is pursuing development & manufacture of Solar & Wind Energy equipment is to sell the product to the West. For China, that’s a profitable business. The fools in the West are wasting VAST sums to pursue this currently impossible dream of “cheap” wind & solar energy. China meanwhile is investing most of its resources into insuring access to “old” energy sources such as coal, petroleum, natural gas and uranium. The driving forces behind Wind & Solar “solutions” are political & ideological and NOT SCIENTIFIC OR TECHNICAL.

We better wake up folks. We absolutely should, as a nation, be pursuing development of coal, natural gas and petroleum resources & solutions for the near term. And, for the longer term (i.e., starting in the 2020’s), we should be pursuing safe and low cost nuclear power.

When are we going to stop believing ideologues such as Al Gore? EVERYTHING about them are lies.
