This is a little aside, but we flew in and out of LAX this last weekend. There are now papers, please, “checkpoints” before you even get to the airport, with cops and canines. We were in a shuttle bus and were waved through. All the cops were missing were machine guns and I would have felt like I was in/near the Lima, Peru, airport (the last time I felt this much of a military/police-state).
I didn’t get selected for their cancer machines, so didn’t have to “choose” to be felt up. All the TSA guards we saw in LAX seem to have an attitude (not so in the city where we flew from, fortunately).
