WASHINGTON—The House Republican budget unveiled by Rep. Paul Ryan Tuesday would cut spending below the level agreed to by both parties in August and reiterates Mr. Ryan's proposal for transforming Medicare.

The budget, which sets spending for the 2013 fiscal year, which starts Oct. 1, also takes aim at a variety of high-profile programs. It recommends repealing President Barack Obama's health plan, eventually eliminating Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and turning Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps, into block-grant programs.

Please, GOP Congressmen and Senators, grow some stones and do the right thing. Do not cave to liberals.
If you guys don’t cut spending it won’t go good at election time.

Good start. Now just do it! I remember in 1979 Ronald Reagan went on and on about getting rid of government cabinets like Dep’t of Education, and once he got into office he did nothing about it. So many Republicans tell conservative voters what we want to hear but then once they get elected or re-elected it’s the same old crappy government we always had.

A sensible approach would be to seek a $2T budget within 4 years, while maintaining $3T in revenue. We need to cut about $500B a year, every year, for the next 4 years.

I'd like to move more aggressively than that, but I'm trying to be sensible.
