Fat chance that the Novus Ordo pope will meet with those who represent the suffering under the communist monster Fidel Castro. Every pope since Pius XII would have met with Che Guevara had he not been killed and dispatched to hell.

The popes, subsequent to Vatican II, have proven themselves to be as phony as that counterfeit enclave.

Paint with a broad brush much?? Perhaps you would do well to remember that the Supreme Pontiff is the head of state for Vatican City. As such, he able to meet with foreign leaders and use his other office as Vicar of Christ, to encourage change, confirm the faithful, and spread the Gospel.

Put aside your personal rebellion and pray for a successful papal visit and people suffering in Cuba.

This is, in many ways, the first Big Test of this Pope. His predecessor was a magnificent force for freedom, the driving force behind the liberation of Eastern Europe and collapse of the Soviet Bloc. Benedict, as his successor, faces the last remnant of the old Soviet Bloc in Cuba.

I doubt that his message will be blunt and direct, but will instead be subtle, irresistable and irrefutable. The Cuban Regime is likely terrified of this visit, and will do all it can to blunt and dissipate whatever is said. Their effectiveness will depend on how much energy they can muster with limited means.

When the people realize their actual power, and the actual weakness of the Tyrants, then an abrupt change is likely to occur. It may be Poland, it may be Romania, but it will happen. Tyrranies can only last until the people cease to fear them.

Is it wrong to hope for Castro dangling from a lamppost?
