Mitt Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom on Wednesday dismissed concern that the nastiness of the GOP primary race could negatively affect the fight to replace President Obama.

"It's almost like an Etch A Sketch — you shake it all up and start over again," he told CNN of the general election. He said the Republican Party would rally around the eventual nominee.

Transcription of interview:

HOST: Is there a concern that Santorum and Gingrich might force the governor to tack so far to the right it would hurt him with moderate voters in the general election.

FEHRNSTROM: Well, I think you hit a reset button for the fall campaign. Everything changes. It’s almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all of over again.

Emphasis Mine

The only inevitableness of Romney is the certain destruction of his campaign by the MSM and Obama if he is the nominee.

They will slaughter him using his own EXTREME Progressive Liberal record/background and his loss will make John McCain’s 2008 loss look like a win.

He is the only GOP POTUS candidate garuanteed to lose to Obama.

Dream on, Romney. I won’t forget the scorched earth tactics you used to win the nomination and drive all the conservatives out.

The GOP-e is expecting us to be good little boys and girls and campaign for Bishop Romney once he’s coronated in Tampa.

Romney-the-RINO will NEVER be supported by Conservatives....he's a joke.

The old "don't worry, boys, they're Republicans and they'll vote for whoever we pick" is OVER.

Get used to it.

A RINOmney campaign will allow me much free time to pursue other interests since I have no need to listen to his minions and will never vote for the vapid dork. Don’t worry, I obviously wouldn’t vote for the Cretin-in-Chief either.

I will, however, proceed to the polls and vote for real conservatives on the ballot.

RINOmney can shove it up his smelly Obama...since he is nothing but Obama lite anyway.

I am about 95% on the road to pulling the lever for a 3rd party. This Romney insider is probably laughing at people for falling for his empty suit candidate.

According to Michelle Malkin on twitter this morning, Jeb Bush will be endorsing Romney.

The gop/e is enjoying their LAST election... the next one will not find America tolerant of their lies and evil ways. I know that I will work to destroy their party and rebuild it as a Conservative home.

Same here. I'll treat it like a midterm.

Etch a sketch - what a perfect analogy for Romney. Don't like what I just said, wait a minute, I'll erase it and start over.

Idiot! (not YOU, but HIM) and his cronies. We will never forget the savaging he engaged in as a progressive leftist against the arragy of conservative Republicans against him...and how he magically will be puttin the gloves on and pulling punches to take a dive so the annoited one, Barack Obama, can be reelected. We have seen this movie before...and it has a very bad ending. Seriously, just about given up hope on the Stupid/Whig Party here.
