Elway did say some kind things about Tebow, that he wished him the best, that he would want him for a son-in-law, and that Tebow was gracious in hearing the news. Not the most gushing, I agree, but still, not entirely silent.
The chances Denver wins a Superbowl in the next 3 years is 10-1. You have an aging QB, with multiple neck surgeries on a .500 team with no defense, average receivers and a running back with two bad knees. With the money they have invested in Manning they have put themselves in a real bind. Add in the fact that Manning record in the playoffs is pretty poor 9-10. I understand Elway was looking for a way to dump Tebowmania. But this gamble will probably set the franchise back 3-5 years.
Then I take it back. We don't hear everything out here in Seattle; our media lost interest as soon as it became obvious we were out of the Manning sweepstakes.
I'm glad he was gracious.
Elway just said those things to make himself look good so he doesn’t appear to be the total pig he is.
